Baka low pressure yung gulong mo, o di maganda ang quality ng fuel mo, o madumi lang ang fuel injectors. Pwede ring yung brake mo sumasabit.

let it relearn then measure again in a week or 2 siguro. aside from that kung tama yung kabit there should be no effect.

Mga Sir's... Im a newbie here at tsikot and Im glad to get info's on how to maintain a car, may problem lng po ako about my 89 corolla small body which is my 1st car it has a 12valve 1500 engine, I've had made major replacements on it already but one thing that really bother's me is the FC which is only 5.6kml/ i compute the consumption by getting the litters that i have poured in and dividing it to kilometers that i have runned, ends up I only run 5.6km/and sometimes its less, I already had it tunned up even twice even had it re-jetted to a smaller jetts had the timing setup as normal as it should I've changed my oil filter/air filter even the spark-plugs and its burn which is flesh/ the idle was okay basically I had it tuned up just fine but I'm still consuming too much fuel, I think this is not the right thread for me to go to, but it seems like the people in this forum are the same folks that I seen in most of the forums that I have visited, at least at 40 forums.,

Any advise will be greatly appreciated

    Thank you!.

There are so many factors affecting fuel consumption, let me ask you the following questions muna:

    1. What major changes did you make/replace on the car?
    2. Did you zero the trip meter, fill-up the tank, ran the car a certain number of kilometers, fill-it up agan, and divide the trip meter reading versus the fuel consumed per gasoline refilled to obtain the FC reading?
    3. Where and how long have you been going to this mechanic, and did you inform him of your predicament?
    4. Any unusual things happening to your car (say rough idling, blue/black/white smoke)?
    5. Any racing related equipment set-up in your car (headers, scavs, etc)?

    Thanks sa reply..
na ffigure out ko ung consumption usage nya every time na nag ggas ak say 7 liters then i usually reset the odometer ang basis ko is ung last line sa gauge actually ni re-jet na un ng mechanic ko pero parang ganon parin ehh 400 worth of gas only runs for 30kms, do you think I have to bring my car to kamuning and have a carb overhaul?

My FC on my APV is degrading. It barely at 5km/li while it used to be 7-8 km/li. Made PMS a few months ago, replacing all fluids, filters, spark plugs and belts. Everytime i drive i can observe the fuel gauge go down rather fast. I turned off the aircon on the return trip, the gauge somewhat stood still.

Using the lowest viscosity oils in your owners manual helps. Also good tints ie vkool helps maitain a cooler cabin helping the a/c. Tire pressure also plays big role in fuel consumption.

I did used the oils as indicated in the owner's manual. Tire pressure is also good, at 30psi. I'll have my ride checked soon.

Try also cleaning the sensors (does the APV use a MAF sensor after the air intake? This can be cleaned with electric contact cleaner).

If you drive in the metro, have you considered that traffic lately just plain sucks? It's really gotten worse. I used to average 10-11km/L city driving in my Altis just a little over a year ago; now i'm doing 8.5 to 9km/L with everything else constant in the condition of the vehicle. I thought my Sentra (carburetor) was in need of tuning as i was getting a terrible 5-6km/L at times. I drove it one weekend and i hit 12km/L in the city.
