Good Day fellow tsikoteers. Nung lumabas ang lahat ng ZiC oils, nakita ko yun dalawang klase ng 20w-50 which is the X3 and X5. Ask ko lang kung nasubukan nyo to? Any feedbacks/reviews? Current oil na gamit ko is Petron Ultron Touring 20w-50 (API SL) on my 2006 Toyota Innova J Gas

    Thanks!

you do not use 20w50 in a gas engine. Sobrang lapot.

Kung may nag Sabi pangit ang ZiC, back to Petron ako, Toyota oil or other oil brands.

20w50 is ok for high mileage gas engines.. pero mas recommended ang 20w40

Check your manual for oil recommendations. Do not use 20w50 on gas engines even if older models unless it’s the only option available. I learned my lesson before when I cheaped out on using 20w50 on my old 2001 Accord. I changed it after a month of use.

20W50 was our mainstay motor oil in our 60s-70s cars.

what happened, when you used 20W50 ?

The engine warmed up slower compared to an oil with 5w40 viscosity. It also feels sluggish to rev to higher rpms. VTEC engines love to be revved high so using such a thick viscosity defeats the purpose.

It may work with 60s or 70s or 80s era vehicles but cars at the turn of the century, better go with 5w40.

Minsan kasi 20w50 oil is good para ma compensate mo kung medyo nag consume na ng oil yung engine.. kasi pag old engine at mainit na.. lumalaki din yung tolerance ng mga gaps nyan resulting to oil consumption.. band aid solution is to use thicker oil..

Pero on regular use.

Refer always to associated tech manual re grade of oil to be used e.g. 5W40.

My understanding is that the 5 stands for lower viscosity during cold start as the bearing clearances are still tight. The 40 is for desired viscosity at normal operating temp. for tropical regions.

Madalas 20w40 pang gas engine.. yung 15w40 pang diesel or gas din..

Sa tropical country yung 40 ang mas recommended

whats making you change your oil of choice? any symptoms?

I would get any multigrade 15w40 thats api-sl (shell is very good but the pricing is not as good as the imported ones.) 20w50 is a little thick imo.

Never saw 20w40. Used 20w50 on my 1996 Lancer. Used 15w40 on my 2011 Vios. 15w40 is common din sa diesel so if you're getting that viscosity make sure you get the right product for your engine type.

Previous gamit ko is Multigrade oil. Kadalasan ang Semi Synthetic nasa 10w-30 at 10w-40.
