engine keeps on revving even at idle.

help po guys. kanina habang nag drive ko papasok, bigla na lang nag rev ng paulit-ulit un engine ko. naka neutral ko nun tsaka naka idle. tapos nung pinaandar ko ung oto, nag rev pa rin cya pag pinasok sa neutral. nawala din cya after mga 5 mins.

meron po ba ko dapat ipa-check sa sasakyan ko? and ano pa kaya cause nun?

di naman po. naka hinto ung oto. tapos nag rev hanggang mga 2k rpm paulit-ulit. tulad ng sabi ni shadow, para ngang may multo na apak ng apak sa gas pedal.. hehe!

please identify your vehicle and its vitals- mileage, last thing done to it, etc.

car is 2006 jazz 1.5 manual. mileage is 56k km. last oil change done at 55k.

have the throttle body serviced, have the idle air control serviced- it might be sticking, check for disconnected vacuum hoses. is your malfunction indicator light on, flashing or giving codes?

thankfully malfunction lights were not on. this only happened once so far. il just have the things you suggested checked and hopefully it wont happen again. thanks for the help.

baka bumobomba lang ang aircon compressor mo?
minsan kasi ganun, parang nagre-rev ang engine maski idle kapag nag-on si compressor.

nakikita mo bang pumapalo pataas ang rpm needle mo?

this, i agree. nangyari sa kin yan noon sa mazda6 ko dito sa saudi. dinala ko sa service center, at nakita ko, may ini-spray lang sila, at naging normal na. sabi nung mekaniko marumi raw, since maalikabok dito.

yung sa case ko, makikita mo lang na gumagalaw yung needle nang bahagya (umaangat ng konti), at maririnig mo yung "revving" sound" for 3-5 secs., pag tumigi ako then balik ulit sa dati. pero wala ito, pag patay ang AC ko.

pero nagulat ako sa sinabi ni TS. umaabot sa 2k rpm?...... nyeeeeeee!!!
