NO, it's one of the best ways to ruin your engine.
basta regular ang change oil schedule and the oil does not get too dirty di na need yan mag-engine flush. engine flush is mostly kerosene with detergents added to it. can you just imagine what that will do to your engine, running on oil diluted with kerosene?
for me i would rather drop the oil pan, clean it out, then put it back again with a new oil pan gasket. sigurado ka pa na nalinis talaga lahat ng sludge at carbon sa oil pan mo.
This is what I've done on my eg sedan last month...sobrang nagle-leak yung oil around the oil pan. since due na sya for oil change sinabay ko na sa shell maya. 600 lang yung labor for the oil pan gasket replacement, the gasket cost me 1350 honda oem. mas mahal pa yung parts ang labor ng oil pan gasket kesa sa parts labor for oil change. but the results, no more oil leaks and very clear pa yung oil up to now. very much satisfied. my $.02.![]()
Like what speedyfix said, it depends on the kind and brand of flush that you use. Oil has its own cleaning properties and it cleans your engine, so the slogan says, while you drive. Flushing it removes the oil residues that normally doesn't come out during draining. I don't know of any studies that would conclusively proved that flushing is bad for your engine, but there aren't any that shows it's good for your engine either.
But isn't flushing part of the dealer's SOP when they perform the regular PMS? Kung under-warranty pa sasakyan mo, do you have the option to tell them na wag na silang mag-flush?
yup, dagdag gastos lang yan.
i remember, meron isang car care service station dati na binebentahan ako ng magnetic na drain plug, para daw yung mga maliliit na bakal from the engine dun lang nakadikit. i don't know kung effective talaga ito. pero hindi ko pa rin binili.

If u want u can use as a flush yung mura na oil lang. Yung pinaka mura.
After you drain it just put the cheapest oil then paandarin mo lang nang 2 to 3 mins. then drain it again u will see na medyo dumumi yung kalalagay mo lang na cheapest oil.
Then put na yung ano mang gusto mong oil, kung synthetic or semi synthetic.
my 2 cent lang...
nuff said... if you follow your service intervals then there is no need to flush the oil![]()
This is a good route to take, i know several peeps who do this as well. You can also try the Caltex Power FLushing Oil in lieu of the cheap oil. You also dont need to top up on the flushing oil when this is done (i.e. a car with 4L capacity of oil will only need around 2-3L if its being flushed).Originally posted by CLAVEL3699

I do this with our rides every 30,000km or so.
Pero you'll need to flush when you switch from mineral to synthetic, right? That's what I gathered from other threads.
Yebo, kerosene ba ang pang-flush? 'Diba oil din (specifically made for flushing)?

clavel 3699,
thats what i do, i drain then i put 3 liters of the cheapest oil i can buy then run the engine for 5 mins then drain again, after that i pour in the 6 liters of fully synthetic oil.
same here.
never used flushing chemicals.
drain old oil. put in regular motor oil. run for 10-15 mins. drain regular oil, replace oil filter. install new oil filter and put in Mobil 1 fully synthetic (for my gas fed vehicle) and Shell Helix Diesel (for my diesel fed vehicles)
I didn't flush when I switch from mineral to semi-synth. I didn't encounter any problem.Originally posted by RafRaf

Ngayon naman, I switch from semi-synth to mineral wala rin problema.
But I agree with the other's recommendation, if you really want to flush it, put in a cheaper oil, then run your engine, then flush and put in your desired type of oil.
maybe it's worth to check this out...
