Biglang namatay ang makina

Last Friday night, pauwi na ako while cruising at EDSA nang biglang namatay ang makina. Walang electricity dahil walang ilaw ang domelight, hazzard, headlights, radio or panel gauges. Ayaw din mag-start and walang redondo.

Wala akong alam na pwedeng gawin kaya't na-tow ako ng MMDA. Buti na lang at napaki-usapan ko, dinala ako sa nearest gas station and waited for my friend para hatakin ako pauwi.

My car is 1993 corona a/t. Just replaced a new 1sm battery two weeks ago.

Nung pina-checkup ko sa wizzards last saturday, nilinis lang nila ang main relay & fuse box connections sa engine bay and checked the voltage of the alternator and battery. So far, di pa naman namamatayan ulit. Sabi ng technician, kung meron daw akong grounded na electronic part, dapat pumutok lang ang fuse. OK naman lahat ng fuse.

Cleaning ng connections lang ba ang katapat ng problem ko? :confused:

If you notice there'sa 30A fuse in the positive terminal of your battery, I think that's the one that blew off. Your mechanics' right, there might be some exposed wire/s that made the fuse blew off. Check all wires and have them wrapped with electrical tape to avoid future troubles , and expenses on towing.

walang fuse na nasira nung biglang namatay ang makina. nilinis lang ng wizzards ang connections sa main relay&fuse box using contact cleaner. btw, kinabukasan after the incident, umandar na oto ko kaya nadala ko sa wizzards.

two weeks pa lang ang battery ko.

Cleaning ng connections lang ba ang katapat ng problem ko?

maaring linis nga lang, baka nag loose or may maluwag sa main fuse or relays. minsan kasi yung mga terminals nun dumudumi

Wizard is a very good electrical shop ... if you like ... you should buy better battery terminals ... if you want heavy duty wurth is the brand ... if you want cheaper look for wagner brand ...

and for cleaning your battery terminal ... if you see white sustance forming on top of you terminal try watering it or soda ...(coke)... but if you could afford but wurth's battery cleaner ... mahal lang pero effective naman

try to have extra fuses inside your car ...

Bigla namatay na naman ang makina ko while in C5 kanina. Walang kuryente dahil walang domelight, radio o gauge panel... total black-out. Just the same thing that happened before ko ipa-check sa Wizzards.

Then after 5 minutes, nagkaroon ng kuryente (whew! thank God!) Nadala ko pa ang oto sa office building parking.

While in idle yung makina, binuksan ko lahat ng ilaw and accessories then hinugot ko ang battery terminal. Waited for 5 seconds then ayun!!! namatay ang makina ng oto.

Is the alternator already defective?

You're correct! The alternator is defective! Ang alternator kasi ang magbibigay ng koryente sa car, at di baterya...ang batt lang ay para sa starter motor. i suggest na ipa-check mo yung alternator mo, or baka lang defective din yung voltage regulator, or in summary, pa-check na lang ang buong charging system ng sasakyan.
