    Hello tsikoteers

    May iconsult lang ako regarding sa nangyari saken kagabi.

    On my way home from Lipa to Manila, nagkatrouble si Avanza AT. Pagkaexit ko ng Tambo, bigla na lang umilaw si "check engine oil" then sabi ko na baka maka abot pa ng sto tomas kasi maraming talyer dun.

    During the travel, may ingay pag inaapakan ko ung silinyador pero pag di naman, walang ingay. Hanggang sa umilaw na ung 3 warning lights sa dashboard (check batt, engine oil, etc.) Nung matabi ko, ayaw ng magstart. Pag ka click, wala ng redondo. Malakas naman battery. Kakapalit ko lang last year.

    Ano kayang nangyari and ano magiging solusyon.

    Car is *74k odo. Last change oil and maintenance *67k.

    Last oil change was mineral oil? When was the last oil change? 2 yrs ago?

    yari. dapat si mo na tinakbo. mukhang overhaul na katapat nyan bro.

    probably due to sludge or natuyuan ka ng langis due to leak. either way, malaking gastos yan

    Dapat po tinabi nyo na sir nun umilaw na yun oil indicator sir. I agree with sir sirkosero malamang general overhaul na po yan dahil tumigil na yun engine nyo while running. Pabuksan nyo po para malaman extent nang damage.

    you violated the basic driving rule of "NEVER drive on RED!" meaning stop driving as soon as you see a RED warning light on the instrument cluster... the engineers placed colors on that thing for a REASON, and RED means STOP!

    since di ko naman nakikita tsikot mo, palagay ko engine seizure/lock up na yan due to poor lubrication as indicated by the low engine oil warning light that you mentioned...

    So hindi pwedeng gamiting measurement ang oil dipstick? Kasi nasa right level naman sia.
    Ang last na change oil was march 2015 and fully synthetic na ang gamit.

    Lesson learned nga tong nangyaring ito. I was hoping na aabot hanggang sto tomas dahil nakalabas na ko ng star toll.

    You won't really know the extent of internal damage of your engine until you get it opened sir. Even if the dipstick oil level is good the sludge inside due to long change oil intervals sticks to your engines internal parts and the little holes where oil should pass has clogged up slowly killing it. Best is to maintain a regular 5k kms or 4months change oil routine to prevent sludge. Kahit mineral basta regular and change oil lang.

    ... sounds expensive...
    engine seizure due to loss of lubrication?
    only in opening up the engine will you know just how expensive..
    if car is still under warranty, i think you should have toyota do the opening.. baka puede pang i-pasok sa warranty or insurance..

    puno nga ang oil sa oil pan as measured by the dip stick pero hindi naman maka akyat sa taas ng makina due to blockage of some sort which was detected by the oil pressure sensor... so therefore hindi pwede basis ang oil dipstick alone...

    may similar threas dito a few weeks back regarding an avanza that had sludge issue.

    2nd case na ito sa thread for an avanza in less than a month

    Hindi na sha covered ng warranty kse naikwento mo na d2 ung nangyari.
    1.)umilaw na oil pressure warning light, pinatakbo mo pa.
    2.)lumampas ang interval mo ng change oil.

    may kumatok ba habang tumatakbo and nag loose power?
    if yes, medyo nakakatakot ito...... stock up yung mga valves..... you may have damaged your engine already.

    Help po. My car is a Lancer MX 2004 A/T . Yesterday , while on the road biglang naramdaman ko na lang na nawala ang power . Mabuti na lang medyo naitabi ko pa bago tuluyan huminto. Battery is still strong, na check ng taga motolite .
    Hindi po matukoy ng mekaniko kung ano dahilan, parang natsambahan lang niya na mapaandar . Two days prior to this, nag park ako and ate in a restaurant , tapos pagbalik ko ayaw na umandar. It took me 2 hours bago makahanap ng mekaniko ,pero nung dumating ang mekaniko at ini start , umandar naman . I just had my oil change and tune up 2 months ago . Ano po kaya ang dahilan nito? Ang comment nung nag check na mekaniko, (madumi na raw langis, nakita nya sa takip) eh August lang ako nag change oil.

    It's possible na distributor sir culprit or yun igniter ba tawag dun sa distributor-less engine? Pag umiinit na kasi baka nag shut down sya at ayaw magbigay nang spark kaya namamatay engine po. Paglumamig na aandar na ulit.

    Nag pa MTU ako, pero no error . pero suspetsa ng nag read is fuel pump. Yesterday nung pinalitan fuel pump na discover na pati filter sira na. Hays 8k pati labor.

    Kung mapansin mo na tuwing uminit na yun engine ay saka magpalya engine at mamatay ay overheating ignition coil ang problem. Dapat palitan na..
    Iyan yun reason umandar kotse na after 2 hrs bago dumating yun mechanic at umandar na.
    Lumamig na uli kasi yun ignition coil.

    sirs!

    meron problem yung mitsubishi lancer ko, GLS 2002. Lately lumabas yung check engine habang nasa edsa ako, tinabi ko agad para sa service bay then eventually namatay. Inistart ko ulit, umandar naman, then lumabas yung check engine, sakto nasa office na ako.

    Now, kinausap ko yung mekaniko ko, dinala ko sa shop nya. Nung una hindi pa lumalabas yung sakit, normal na start.

    Halos Tune Up naarin yung ginawa dahil pinalita na yung sparkplug, oil filter, oil cap, nilinis naman lahat. eventually lumabas yung check engine then namatay. Eto na yung sakit, mag sstart siya, after 2-3 secs, namamatay buong makina. Pinalitan nila ignition coil, same din, bumalik parin sakit, tinignan naman yung crank system, ok naman pero eventually andun parin yung sakit.

    Inayos yung air filter, then hindi lumabas. Pag uwi ko, lumabas ulit yung check engine, may phobia na ako, kasi anytime pwede ako tumirik sa daan, anywhere.

    As of now, kahit may inayos na, lumalabas parin yung check engine, hindi ko ma biyahe ng malayo, takot tumirik.
    mag iniwanan ko siya, after 1 or 2 hrs, aandar naman siya siguro 1 or 2 hrs, deads na ulit .


    ano kaya possible na sira nito sir? i pay 4k and ended up nothing. Probably changed oil kaya eto? oil pump? gas? ano kaya?
