Things to solve a cold start issue?

Hello tsikoteers, just wanna know if the starter can be a major reason of cold start problem? Sorry if you find this a non-sense question, the reason I asked this because our car is only experiencing hard starting at first start, but when the car finally starts, wala na pong problema sa maghapon even if you on and off the engine, one click na lang.

- Carb was already properly overhauled in kamuning and replaced complete set of carb kit not just the o-rings
- OEM magnetic fuel valve was also replaced
- NGK plugs were just replaced last May
- Fuel filter is also new.

Is there any other things to consider to finally solve a cold start issue?

Ride is honda 92 / PH12 engine. Any response will be highly appreciated. TIA

before po nyo start ang engine paki check po ung engine oil ninyo (mas maganda po kung nag overnight parking kayo then sa umaga para nag settle down ung langis).

kung malapot po ang langis need po yan i-circulate kaya po maingay ang cold start.



Possible naman din po na malapit ng bumigay ang battery ninyo, pa-check nyo na din po ito sa mga battery shops normally libre naman ang pag check nila.

boss kung may VOM ako kaya na i-DIY yung pagcheck ng battery?

Sir, the battery and alternator were already checked in a nearby motolite shop and both are still in good condition. Although, when we got the car last december, yung battery po na nakalagay has no labels or whatsoever, basta kulay black lang casing nya.

could be an old battery that is already near death. ok na siya nung pina-check mo sa motolite shop kasi nga nag-start na yung car at na-charge na siya, but overnight it might be losing charge.

ano ba gamit nyan ph12 manual fuel pump or electronic?? yan muna check mo

nung magpalit ka ba ng fuel filter na-drain din ba ung fuel tank mo?

possible din na madumi ung fuel sa loob ng tank, tignan mo din ung fuel cap kung meron moist.

try mo magpakarga sa ibang gas station ung alam mong hindi binabaha

Sorry sir, not sure if its electronic or manual :-) Although the car is a bit old, so I guess its the latter one.

This seems to make sense. When I start the car this morning, it just cranks and the lights get dimmed and the horn is not that loud. So, I had it serviced by a nearby mechanic and told us that the battery is already busted.
Will update you after we got a new battery within this week. Were keeping our fingers crossed that its only the battery thats causing the cold start issue.

This seems to make sense. When I start the car this morning, it just cranks and the lights get dimmed and the horn is not that loud. So, I had it serviced by a nearby mechanic and told us that the battery is already busted.
Will update you after we got a new battery within this week. Were keeping our fingers crossed that its only the battery thats causing the cold start issue.

Dapat pati charging nung alternator ma-check.

Maybe yes,we have had that problem before,to check it ,our mechanic make a choke attempt twice on the carb,if it start then palinisis mo carb or change your fuel pump .hth

Sir, our carb was just overhauled and replaced the complete repair kit by carb experts in kamuning last june only. They were also the one who handled our other car's carb, kaya trusted na po namin at tested na pulido ang gawa nila. Fuel filter is also new

Your problem seems to be fuel - related. Your electricals seem to be working ok. With these carb - equipped engines trouble shooting a hard start usually centers on the fuel supply (carb, fuel filter, fuel pump), the electrical supply (contact point & condenser/igniter, HTW, sparkplug, ignition coil, voltage reg,relays) & the ENGINE TIMING...

Just wanna make sure if defected na talaga before we get a new one, medyo napapalaki na po kasi sa gastos dahil everytime na dinadala sa talyer kung ano ano pinapapalitan ng mechanic pero it seems na hinde naman pala yun ang sirang parts dahil hinde pa rin mawala wala yung cold start problem.

2 hose nya,yung una galing sa gas tank,yung isa pupunta sa carb,Ito ang ang tanggalin mo,then,pitik pitik sa ignition( starter) pag walang lumabas na gas sa fuel pump,that's it,palitan mo na.hth

Sir, we already tested our fuel pump. Exactly as you stated, inalis namin yung rubber hose connecting to the carb and pump, then start the engine and fortunately sumirit po ang gasoline from the pump, dami nga pong natapon...so its safe to say theres no problem with our pump, right?

Hi, just to give an update. Napa-change oil na po namin yung car yesterday and tune-up but still the car is having this cold start problem. When I start the engine this morning, it took 8 tries bago tuluyang umistart yung car. Ano pa po kaya ang dapat ipacheck, were beginning to loose hope, lagi na lang pong ganun, hinde magamit sa oras yung car cause I always need to allot more time sa umaga dahil nga po hinde agad umiistart. TIA

Diba easiest is to put key sa "on" may whining sound coming from the general area where the fuel pump is located...that's how it uses to be with older model cars, I'm really sorry Hinde ko na alam but that's what I remember.

Maybe cardict's method is the better one.
