do you mean the wires from the distributor to the spark plugs? Those wires provide electricity to the spark plug. No idea how much.

It is the conduit wire where electricity travels from the ignition coil to the spark plugs via the distributor (new cars nowadays have done away with distributors )

In your engine's electrical system, a minimum of 5,000 volts is required to instantaneoously and continually ignite the fuel/air mixture inside the cylinders. The ignition coil in your engine is like a mini transformer (similar to the ones you see sa poste ng Meralco ) which creates the required voltage. The electricity from the coil is then transferred to the spark plug via HIGH TENSION wires.
There are two types: a) copper wire in lay and b) carbon.

Copper in lay High Tension wires is pang-matagalan while carbon type is for high performance.

Depending on which you require, the cost will be somewhere between PhP600 to PhP4,000 for the high performance ones (yung de kulay).

Normally? They should last as long as the car. Pero if not taken cared of properly, who knows. Like I've seen mechanics pull out HTW like humihila ng lubid ng barko. Depending on the type, these wires normally break inside, especially kung carbon type. Improper handling is the common cause for the need to replace these wires. They may be flexible pero may limit pa rin yan, especially pag ma init pa. They should be allowed to cool down before handling. Cleaning them by wipping with a damp rag will help.
