Hello po. im one of the ondoy flooded car victims...

The car (Optra 06) is running now but still wet and murky.

May nag quote kasi saken, 17k package for everything including engine\exterior\interior detailing, head\tail lights, aircon service and cleaning, plus cleaning/checking of wirings (electrical) under the dashboard and if my radio still runs. Okay na ba yun o masyado mahal? Thanks!

I was told to post here and not sa detailing page

    Thanks

if the car's running without problems you probably won't need electrical services. let the thing dry out na lang by using it regulalry.

i spent 4k for total car detail sa petron malapit sa amin. they did an OK job in my opinion.

pay 2000 or so for aircon. linis lang yan.

i think you should spend the rest of that 17k on new motor oil, transmission fluid, brake and radiator fluids, etc etc.

madali lang magpalinis. ang importante maging reliable ulit yung kotse mo. super linis nga kaso pag preno mo naman ayaw kumagat kasi may tubig pa yung linya ng preno, e di parang ala din.

para sa akin puede na yung 17k basta tutukan mo lang. make sure na electrical parts nalinis nila like yung alternator, starter etc.. as in kalas talga loob. yung sa akin pag open ng starter and alternator may putik sa loob and kalawangin na.

mag contact points and greasing on joints etc..

    Thanks po sa advise.

I went to Big Bert's for detailing sana, kaso may waitlist pa rin sila. Sa casa naman, punuan pa din daw. Aside from detailing and aircon kase, may minor electrical problems din- like power locks nya na-grounded nanaman, after working fine for a week, and yung check engine naka-ilaw pa din...windows, gumagana naman...sana hindi na madagdagan.
Plus yung head/tail lights ko still has water in it, buti nalang sumisindi naman sya.

Natawaran ko ng 10k yung package...so i guess pwede na yun siguro; sabi naman pati dashboard babaklasin din nila to clean the inside. iniisep ko pa din...just hope that they are trustworthy! (Breandy Auto shop)

    thanks again!

10k sounds expensive to me kung linis lang. ok yun kung palitan nila lahat ng fluid mo tapos i-clear nila yung check engine light.

Don't forget to have your underchassis cleaned. Your suspension, etc. these were contaminated with mud water and when dry leaves a sandy material akin to abraisive paper. Parang nililiha yun pag gumalaw or umikot.

17k is actually cheap. Flushing pa lang ng engine oil, transmission fluid, power steering fluid, isama mo na brake at radiator e sulit na kung 17k lang kasama electrical, aircon at cleaning.
