January 4th, 2014 07:28 PM #1Sirs quick question lang. Normal ba na madischarge battery pag di ginamit ng ilang araw (5-7 days)? Yung battery ko bago lang mga 5 months pa lang. It happened one time pa lang naman, but I'd like to know if its normal.
Thanks!

Meron akong coding na sasakyan once a week lang ginagamit and no problem kada start ko.

kung walang parasitic drain and no devices are left turned on dapat hindi...(provided that battery is at a good status)
pero i would highly suggest na kung iiwan mo sir ng 1 week yung car at hindi gagamitin for that duration,, tangalin mu negative terminal sa battery, very easy to do po and will put you at the safe side...
kung meh parasitic drain kasi usually hours lang yan or overnight mu lang maiwan ma dead agad battery...
1. check battery status
2. check for any parasitic drain

January 5th, 2014 12:32 AM #10nope. not normal.
i routinely leave my vehicles un-attended for 2 weeks. they all easily start one-click lang afterward.
so what are the possibilities?
1. your battery is slowly dying. yes, even if it's only 5 months old. it's called "factory defect". have it checked at the battery shop.
2. your alternator is defective. have it checked at battery shop or alternator shop.
3. your alternator's rated output is too small. (napalitan ba dati?) look at the etiketa pasted on it and see if it is adequate for your car.
4. you have too many appliances eating up the alternator's output. bawasan mo, or get a bigger alternator.
5. you have loose electrical connections. check 'em.
6. you have big parasitic load. kumakain ng kuryente kahit patay ang kotse. have it checked by a specialist.
(you can check this using my juan tamad method.. disconnect your battery cable. re-connect after 7 days and start the engine. if it starts, then you have parasites. if it doesn't start, either your alternator is insufficient, or your battery is dying..)
btw, what vehicle are we talking about? and do you have many electrical toys in it?
repair kit lang. car care nut says, for toyotas, he recommends entire assembly replacement for...
