Problem: Airbag Indicator Light won't turn off
Background: Power Steering Thread or Ribbon (?) was cut off.
Actions made: Thread was repaired and installed. Horn/Busina is now functional. However, Airbag Indicator Light won't turn off even after several resets were made.

Just would like to ask kung toyota na lang ba talaga ang chance ko para mareset yung sa Airbag Indicator Light since sila lang yung may aparato na pang reset or do I have any other options? Sorry for the disturbance.. TIA..

how was the power steering/ribbon as cut-off?
    anung repair sir ang ginawa?

if meh gamit yung mechanic(aparato) that did the repair, what was the DTC code being shown?
it would be wise sir to have it checked using OBD,, makikita doon kung anung error code at anu ang possible source ng problem sa airbag.

usually any related problems with regards sa SRS( supplemental restraint system) kasama dito ang airbag, fault code and warning will be constantly indicated sa dashboard or sa memory ng ecu ng airbag module...

if signal is cut/interrupted/shorted the airbag module might report this, sensitive ang airbag module sa overvoltage/over current usually kasi hindi 12volts at iba ang ameprage ng wires ng airbag system.... so kung meh nangyari sa wire feed o supply ng airbag module or harness, it could send error (DTC code)....

its possible na cause is the cutting of the wire.... i don't know exactly the wiring method for the vios but it might be that when the wire was cut the signal was interrupted from the airbag ecu to the airbag module thus leading to a stored error code.

Double check the spiral cable(clock spring cable) if it was repaired correctly. Usually airbag has separate connector. Best if you could just replace the whole spiral cable assembly. Or you may try the simpliest reset method which is..

    Remove negative cable of battery.
Press on the brakes or put the key to ignition for several seconds.
    Re-connect the battery.

If airbag light re-appears, pull the codes at the nearest shop.

Safety reminder: Never work with airbags when the battery is connected and system capacitor not discharged. Never test using ohmeter because it sends voltage to the airbag module that may deploy it. Always remove the airbag module if you will be working with clockspring cable or anything in the steering wheel.

well I don't think so, depende yan sa error like for example kung naputol clockspring magkakaroon ka ng dtc "driver squib circuit open" you don't have to reprogram the airbag ecu, you need to change lang ang clockspring.

ang sure diyan ay magkakaroon ka ng DTC kapag meh na alter sa line by either a change/temporary nawala/ naputol/ na-over voltage/short/ ang wire between the airbag module and the airbag ECU/SRS while there is still power stored sa unit.

if its a one time event, then saka natin i-assume na it will be just a software reset either done by casa or any shops na meh proper tools and experience,

Yung isang mekaniko(before maayos yung clockspring) and nakasira.. Don't know how.. Chineck din nya yung mga connections and other stuffs just to make sure na walang ibang sira.. Then nirefer nya ako sa CASA para siguradong maayos yung indicator light issue.. Just this morning.. Pumunta ako sa Toyota.. They said na pwede nila ireset/reprogram.. Kaso they only handle mechanical stuffs kapag saturday.. Kaya weekdays nila ako pinapapunta.. And since sinabi ko yung nangyari.. Madali/mabilis lang daw yung pagayos nun.. Kaso they have to charge me ng P2.7K para sa gagawin nila.. Up to know, I'm still looking for shops na kaya umayos..

sa labas usually ang charge for a simple OBD scan or reset would set you back 1.5k or more...

meh sarili kasi bawat manufacturer na scan tool specific to their brand, pang casa lang yun.
so i don't think unreasonable na din yung price kasi kung sa ibang shop eh baka pabalik balik ka pa at mapa-mahal ka pa in the long run....

due to problem sa scheduling sa CASA.. I decided to press my luck sa banawe.. I went sa J6 sa kaliraya street.. Yun, naayos naman, after nya itry thru scanner, bumalik pa rin, after nun, may ginalaw lang dun sa lock (small, color white) ng wire na nakakabit sa pindutan ng busina and nung clock spring.. naging ok na yung airbag indicator after..
