My car is a 1995 Lancer. Pag start, di namamatay yung battery icon at mahina ang busina. Kapag nirerev, namamatay yung battery icon at ok na ulit busina. I had my battery checked yesterday, ok pa naman daw. ano kaya problem? thanks in advance!

i had the exact same problem a few months ago. culprit daw was the ic regulator. cost of repair is just a few hundred less than a refurbished alt.
i trade in mo na lang yung alternator mo makamura ka pa ng konti.

bro, ask ko lang, how old is your battery? If I were you, I'll first try to borrow a different working battery and see if the problem will persist. This is done para ma-isolate mo yung problem kung sa battery ba talaga o hindi. Kasi kung pinatest mo yung battery mo at mineasure lang yung voltage, hindi mo masabi na talagang wala problem battery mo even if 12v ang reading. Mas madali at mas mura magpalit battery kesa magpalit ng alternator.

it's your alternator, and it's defective. have it checked by a professional.

when the battery charge light turns on in your dashboard, that means your alternator is not charging. a defective battery won't turn on the battery charge light. It'd just hard/won't start.

You can drive it if you have to, but turn off all unnecessary devices (a/c, radio). your battery is shouldering all your car's electrical needs, and depending on the battery, it can last you. you need to bring your car to a decent service center, so they can advise you better on what to do (your alternator might still be reparable).

Otherwise, don't use your car too often. Drive only for emergency purposes. You don't want to stall anywhere.
