how to increase power of a 1.3 corolla?

hi peepz,just want to know how can I increase or gain extra power from my 1.3 AE101, i used this as harabas ride but medyo bitin sa power. I replace the stock filter with simota and also the muffler with power flow muffler US brand naman.medyo ok but I want to gain more..newbee po ako sa engine upgrades and I dont want to expend so much dahil pang harabas lang..hope you could give some advice peepz..tnx

Sell it, and get a 1.6L instead. The 1.3L engines were designed for fuel economy, not power.

Ditto on this... IMO, adding a air intake and exhaust (headers) won't really do much given this engine is really tuned for economy (and it is a pang-harabas ride). Just make sure it's always tuned-up and you can perhaps advance the ignition timing a bit (with a mix of higher octane fuel) to get better response (just make sure there's no detonation/"tope"). IF you don't have a tachometer, have one installed so you know to what extent you can push the engine harder.

You can get a 3E (1.5L) swap for about 12 to 15k. Economy size pa rin pero mas malakas sa 1.3 ng konti.

Tama sila. 1.3 = fuel economy. Actually yung 1.6 economy pa rin, meron lang mga makina na kahit 1.6 eh mataas ang power.

If they are using it for drag racing, baka may shift light yung additional, or basta mas madaling tingnan kasi nasa taas. Otherwise... porma.

or corolla that old, the engine is no longer fuel efficient, sometimes it consumes more fuel than a newer 1.8 li engine, so it's better to just sell it than upgrading or modifying it

I have a friend who has 1.3 at gumastos ng 50k for Port and polish, new head, oversize pistons, the works. Lumalabas parang 1.5 lang or 1.6 at mas magastos pa sa gas. about 4 to 1. IMO get a new engine or better yet get a newer version of corolla. Masakit lang sa ulo yan.
