May nakita akong Car Battery na SF Sonic. Tanong lang kung 75 AH or 95 AH Car battery ang kukunin ko for Montero and for Grandia? Thank you!

i would consult the owner's manual and see what it recommends.

Higher AH would be preferred, especially for high displacement diesels. Your alternator will thank you for it!

Ahh ayun 70 AH lang pala ang Enduro 3SM, so 75 AH SF Sonic would suffice. Mas mura kasi ang 75 AH Sonic sa 95 AH Sonic ng mga 1,000 pesos

Ah laki din pala price difference. IIRC, I have SF Sonic 105D31L on my Santa Fe. Came from the same shop that sold me Amarons. So far so good 18 months down the line.

In layman's terms, ano ang pinagkaiba ng RC sa AH when it comes to importance to the vehicle?

According to tirecenter.com.ph/motolite.htm Enduro 3SMF is 70AH. 75AH for Gold, and 80AH for Excel.

I swear by Amaron Hi Life 115D31L (3SM) though. 90AH. Very satisfactory performance in our turbo diesels.

    Yes, 3SM din.

The last Amaron Hi Life I bought was last November, 2018. Got it for P6200 - P300 for the old battery. Got it from Jawe in Banawe, near Orthopedic Center.

Sabi daw kapag higher ang AH, it will take the alternator longer to charge your battery?

mas OK mataas capacity, wala naman pakialam alternator sa size ng battery mo. charging lang gagawin nya, in excess of you car's eletrical usage.

IIRC, reserve capacity is number of minutes the battery can last without alternator charging before conking out, and ampere hour is the total energy output the battery is capable of discharging. Electrical guys please correct me if I'm wrong. [emoji28]

In my experience, 3SM with higher AH rating tend to enable faster, more "confident" cranks on our diesels. Like the Motolite Gold vs Amaron Hi Life on a 3.0L engine.

If you are not using any electrical or electronic devices while the engine is not running, your vehicle is fine even with 75AH battery or lower.

Under normal usage, car battery is only used in cranking the engine after which alternator takes over by recharging the battery and supplying other power requirements of the vehicle. I've tried removing the battery after starting the engine and it continued to run.

I suppose if you have an alarm system then you must get higher AH

Trial period for Sf Sonic has ended. Prematurely might I add. Have had to replace mine today. 8/13/2017 - 2/15/2019. 2 days after warranty lapsed. 2 days! Why was I too busy again 2 days ago?

I have replaced it with Amaron again. And I was told that price difference between Amaron and SF Sonic is only 2k nowadays!

Sorry sorry. P200, not 2k. Lutang ako. SF Sonic is cheaper by P200. [emoji28]

It used to be around 1k difference nung binili namin.

Ang alam ko Amaron ang madalas tumatagal ng 4 years. I don't think SF Sonic has been in the local market as long. Kung significantly cheaper siya, perhaps it is worth a try. Pwedeng namalasan lang talaga ako, and 18 months is halfway decent naman
