There are numerous brands and models to choose from; Motolite Excel, Outlast MF, AC Delco and others. 1SMF, 2SMF, 3SMF are battery sizes that can fit inside your engine compartment slot for batteries. Most newer sedans have 1SMF or sometimes 2SMF. But diesel engines require atleast 3SMF for cranking up during cold starts.

check mo din muna kung kasya ba yung battery sa car mo. i mean yung casing, some cars I think have smaller casings so di kasya yung bigger batts like 2smf.

    around 1.5-2k.

i changed a few months back, kinuha ko yung motolite excel, yung kulay green, 2smf.

    ize_9,

better get a bigger capacity na battery nag mag-fit sa engine bay... always get a maintenance free battery with longer warranties... motolite MF are 18months warranty... i haven't tried other batteries.. maybe next time na magpalit ako..

question: magpapakabit lang ako ng additional fog lights eh. i'll do this instead of modifying my stock headlamps to higher wattage, dahil hindi sya ganung kalakas sa gabi eh. that way, stock pa rin headlamps ko.

do i need to upgrade my batteries?

another thing is your alternator.. baka mababa lang na load ang kaya nya..switching the foglamps along with the headlights can discharge your battery.. baka kelangan din ninyo mag-change ng alternator to high ampere..

on my dad's revo 2000 diesel.. when we added the extra fog lamps sa bullbar.. nadi-discharge yung battery specially pag naka-hinto sa traffic.. nag-drop below 12Volts yung battery.. dinala namin sa motolite sa espana at sabi nila eh mahina charging system ng revo diesel..

yung voltage regulator ng mga revo diesel eh relay type while the gas models have the IC type.. factor din ito because we have a revo gas model na ok naman ang charging system..

Note also that local batteries aren't really maintenance free, they still have those water pouring caps under the stickers, they're supposed to be called "low maintenance" not maintenance free since the hydrolyte still gets reduced after 6-8 months.
