I have this motolite in my honda city 2006. nag 3 years na siya this feb. feeling ko malapit na siya mamatay.

kasi kapag gagamitin mo radio hindi naka on, as short as 15 minutes lang diskarga na agad. At if naka park lang then kahit the next day lang, mahina na ang pagstart. On the brink of not starting at all. The dashboard gets dim and 5 secs pa bago maistart. kapag fail to start ka, ayaw na mag crank ulit the next time iattempt mo istart. kelangan pa magpaboost.

i noticed also that, it has a somewhat moist body. wala namang sulfates sa terminal, pero may konting basa basa sa gilid at mga crystals at napansin ko rin nangalawang yung lalagyan ng battery. Is it possible may leak ito?

tsaka may mga battery ba na mas malakas? in terms of amps? maliit kasi batterya nito. the smallest type ive seen compared sa ibang sasakyan namin dito. gusto ko sana mag upgrade ng battery if ever papalitan na siya kaso baka hindi kakasya.

    suggestions?

Palitan mo na. If you want a bigger batt., siguraduhin mo lang na kakasya ya lalagyanan. Sukatin mo rin ang height pata hindi tatama sa hood.

Make sure wala kang electrical drain. Check mo yung fusebox mo kung may live connection ka maski naka off lahat. Dapat wala.

wala ibang elec drains. naka off lahat talaga. napansin ko lang nag dedegrade na talaga yung capacity niya. and whats weird is that, if drained siya and then charged for 5 minutes (engine on) then off mo, nakakastart na agad siya. it's like it is loosing CCA or capacity to provide high amps. pero tumatagal talaga siya kapag radyo lang naka on. pero hindi na siya nakaka provide ng starting power

Time to replace your battery. No need upgrade your battery. You would not gain anything from it.

    tama sir

and if you changed your battery to a higher rating, you need also to changed your alternator to be able to charged your higher capacity battery, otherwise overwork nyan yung alternator mo at baka masira pa

ganun ba yun? salamat mga sir. ang liit talaga ng batterya nito. even our kia rio 2007 has n50 on it! ito ns40 lang. whats surprising is that yung golf cart namin n60 siya. bibili na ako tomorrow ng battery.

wala ba talagang benefit kung upgrade ako ng higher capacity? eh naka over wattage bulbs ako at fogs, plus a heavy sound system eh. tinanggal ko na nga lang yung separate amps ko para makapag pa sounds kahit off ang car. yun parin 5 mins lang unable to crank na.

upon checking din kanina, the water level of my battery is low. maintenance free siya but meron nakatagong mga caps for each cell. ive read din na pwede daw lagyan ito ng distilled water

is it true? so at least naman, ma prolong ko pa kahit kaunti itong batterya ko. sa hirap ng panahon ngayon

Kaya naman pala, kung gusto mo magpatugtog kahit naka off ang sasakyan get a deep cycle battery (Optima Yellowtop comes to mind). Mahal siya pero magagamit mo sounds mo kung kailan mo gusto. Overwattage rin pala bulbs mo. How much over the standard rating ba sila? Kung kaunti lang you should be fine pero kung malaki laki ang difference, medyo hirap na ang charging system mo.

    Mbeige

its already 1.5 years since ive changed my setup and bulbs. wala problema. dati full blast 30 mins i can still able to start my car. but now, even 5 minutes would make my car dead.

so is it really the battery?

and i forgot to mention, kapag umaga same parin. since no lights/fogs and not that loud music while driving, the charging system would be really fine. im gonna buy a battery today. im gonna try to look for that deep cycle battery

Tama ang sabi ni Mbeige. Get an Optima yellow top if you a want to play your stereo for a long period of time w/ your engine off. See below.

just bought a new battery kanina. motolite gold parin. ok na ok pag start. halos di dumidilim ang dash ko.

another question, pwede ba akong magpakabit ng deep cycle along with the standard battery? meaning naka parallel siya?

My answer is, I assumes that you will not be listening to your sound system at 3 quarter volume all day long. Any system playing at one-third volume is drawing considerably less current then the same system at 3-quarter volume, and may not need a charging system upgrade if the volume level are kept reasonable.

On the other hand, you could be asking for trouble if you do keep the volume cranked up w/ your engine off, it can grab current from the battery- up to a point.

Installing a second battery help a bit. The only reason to do that is to play your stereo for long period's with the engine off. Again...you are not listening your stereo at 3 quarter all day and disturbing the peace or quality time of your neighborhood, right? So need to do that, stick w/ that 1 battery at pabigat lang yan sa kotse.
