I own a 1996 Mitsubishi L200. I had the IC of my alternator repaired twice coz pinasukan na ng oil.
After i have the oil seals replace I will buy a new alternator.

rotor shaft (where the oil seal grips) could also be grooved. TS, refer to the thread Alternator DIY for some pointers para hindi ka maloko ng mechanic mo.
pero kung talagang trip mo bumili: go surplus IMO. Valeo yung nabili kong surplus. had the brushes and oil seals changed before installing them. check mo rin yung mounting ears nung alternator kung ok pa ang roundness at yung distance ng mounting points. sukatin mo muna yung mounting arm sa front lower case-oil pump assembly.
Yup bibili nalang ako ng bago. I saw your thread alternator diy and i find it very informative. 4d56 din yung engine mo. 75 amperes ba talaga sa 4d56? Bakit ba pinapasukan ng oil ang alternator? Thanks.
BTW, may napansin lang ako kanina pauwi ako. Head light on and aircon on.
Just had my stock alternator replaced (50 amps laguna auto parts mfg corp) to a rebuilt mando 90 amp alternator. sana tumagal ng 10 yrs.
Sirs, reviving thread. Any specific recommendation kung saan okay bumili ng reman or surplus alternator (aside from ace hardware)? Yun tipong garantisado ang binebenta. Need to change alternator na kasi (4d56 N/A).
Thanks in advance.
surplus.. alternators have a very long service life..
but what do you mean by alternator failure? it does not generate electricity, or the (oil-contaminated) pulley is slipping?
but i am curious... san galing yung oil? and i thought the IC is water- and oil-proof. mebbe your alternator just needs a good cleaning and a new set of brushes..
and i do not think alternators figure significantly in engine heat scenarios..
and thermostats just make the engine reach optimum operating temperature, faster. an absent thermostat will not make the engine overheat. perhaps your heat problem can be traced to the radiator.
MARDENREY 1046 panay st. balic balic, sampaloc manila.
Thanks sirs for the inputs. Napuntahan ko itong mardenrey. Quote for 110 amps alternator is 4k (d ko lang natanong kung kasama install). Anyways, may development with my problem sa vehicle. It turns out the alt is still functioning (13.5-14.something volts when engine is running). I guess the problem with the dash indicator lights might be a connection issue (will have it checked pa).
Considering the alt is still functioning, would it be better to upgrade pa rin (by the way, my current alt has been converted to an external voltage regulator)?
