    My car is a 1990 Feroza. I would like to change the original gas engine to a surplus diesel engine including the transmission and I would like to retain the 4X4 capability. How much could it cost me? Thanks.

    Your best bet would be to get parts from the Toyota Blizzard as they are essentially the same vehicle (when the Blizzard was retired, Daihatsu got the rights to it). You would need the engine, tranny and axles (front and rear). I don't know if the wiring harness will be plug and play.

    Medyo magastos ata ang project na ito. Why don't you consider getting another vehicle na lang?

    masyado kasi ginasgas ni bundz yung feroza nya sa ternate, bili ka na lang ng ride kagaya kay bro otep! magloan ka sa afpslai, amslai,pnslai at iba iba pang slai . . . tapos bisitahin mo si mommy mopara pandagdag . . . hurrah

    We also own a Daihatsu Feroza. We have the same problem with the engine before. Gusto namin ng surplus either gas or diesel pero wala kaming makita sa mga surplusan. So we ended up with an engine overhaul. For now ok na siya. Medyo maselan po sa parts ang Feroza since wala ng support sa previous dealers niya. swertihang hanap sa Banawe. An example is the metal fuel filter which took us 1 year to find one (3 years old na ang dati). Goodluck with your engine search.

    I feel the Feroza is as competent if not better than a Vitara, Pajero or Trooper for offroading.
