January 26th, 2006 12:02 PM #1hello !!!
i'm thinking of buying a car and i really like the daewoo matiz but problem is i don't find any info on it in the philippines ... do you have some feedbacks of owners ?? or some comments ?
do you have an idea how much should be the price of a second hand 99/2000 model , since its so rare i don't have any idea how much it should be
i saw some of them running but they are not for sale looks like
and last do you have an idea if there is an original A/T version of this car, in european sites looks like there is only manual, and no news anywhere on automatic version ... ( but some people sell AT matiz here )
thanks for your help !!

Why exactly do you want to buy a Matiz? It seems that you have never driven/ridden or have seen a unit for sale before.
I'm not too keen on how the Matiz was priced. But brand new, it was pretty close to the Hyundai Atox (~Php360k when I checked one out). Fronte motors used to have parts for that. I'm just not sure if they still do.
Yes, there was an A/T version.

Well, I like small cars, but between the Matiz and the Atoz, I'll pick the Atoz for better build quality and independent rear suspension (Matiz uses solid beam, which, on a small car, it's twitchy at best....
Sikip din loob ng Matiz compared to the Atoz, kahit 6ftr ka di tatama ulo mo sa Atoz... Both are good for city driving only though... Mahihirapan yan sa highway kung may sakay ng 4 or more, lalo na yung AT... You have to drive them like old diesels, floor it sa first and 2nd gear.

January 26th, 2006 05:14 PM #4thanks for the replies , well i already saw some but only the manual ones ( seems to be a better option
) i even went inside the one of a friend in italy ( i'm french )
there is a lot of them in europe because the style is nice and the price is good, but i saw only rare units here .
i'm just trying to find a car around 150k or less 99up year that would be also nice looking and without too much problems ( i suppose not to have too many problems with a car from these years, even a daewoo ... ), and my wife not liking the kia pride i'm searching something else
i have a 92 hatch now but i want to sell it, we'll have a baby soon and the rear area is not easily accessible so its better a 4 doors

try looking into the echo verso. its a wiser choice. kaya lang mahal pa sya. if your tight talaga, try the charade. madami ka mabibili below 100k and you still will have money left for other things...

Oh, if you're expecting, then I honestly have to suggest AGAINST getting a subcompact like the Matiz/Atoz, walang space talaga sa likod pare... and I wouldn't want my kid to be in the car kung nagkaaccident... Not saying na unsafe ang design, but physics is physics, a car that small mas dehado sa accident pag malaki nakabangga...
I wanted the Atoz before but the hatch area can't even fit a folded large stroller... Not a good thing hehe.

Malabo ata iyang budget/age ratio mo. Php 150k tapos '99 up? It's usually one way or the other.
A '97 Suzuki Esteem is a tad above your price range
There are also the fully loaded Kia Pride GTX sedans (the best of the series)
Some Daewoo Esperos sell within your budget
Check the local ads. Don't limit yourself to one model. Baka may madiscover ka.
