MG's best-selling hybrid compact crossover in the UK is now in the Philippines. Youtube preview below by AutoDeal:

The older HS was a really good deal back in the day -- you could pretty much get a fully-loaded crossover nearly the size of a CX-5 for under ₱1.3M. The only concern was the jerky DCT but everything else in the car was well-regarded, including reliability.

The all-new 2026 MG HS Hybrid+ is even bigger, roomier, and looks good too. This time, the HS is now electrified, with an electric-first hybrid powertrain (similar to Nissan's e-Power) sporting 224hp and 340Nm of torque and a dedicated hybrid transmission (nearly instantaneous torque). Priced at about ₱1.39M (without discounts) this is even more fully loaded than its predecessor, with even more bells and whistles, including five star Euro NCAP and ANCAP ratings.

And if reviews in the UK are to be believed, this is also a better car overall than the generation before it.

Since MG typically does quite a bit of discounts later on, this could well be under 1.3M next year, which makes it a really good bang-for-the-buck choice. If your budget is in the ₱1.3M range and you're looking to get a hybrid crossover, the MG HS Hybrid+ is priced ₱1.3M less than the similar-sized CR-V and ₱200k less than the BYD Sealion 6.
