According to the New York Times, “General Motors is recalling all of its 2011 Chevrolet sedans to check for a steering problem as well as a condition in which an automatic transmission that appears to be in Park may still be in gear, increasing the chance of a roll-away accident.” The recall is voluntary according to the reports as GM says there have been no crashes or injuries associated with the issue and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has received no complaints. The NHTSA hasn’t released official recall data on the 2011 Chevrolet Cruze, however, you can contact them via www.safecar.gov or you can contact Chevrolet via www.gmownercenter.com.

I wonder if the local version of the Cruze would be affected by the recall?

tsk tsk hindi kinaya ng powers ng HARI owner ang kamalasan ng chevy. kung yun Hyundai napalago nya, eh eto sa US pa.

wala na talaga, Chevy should be avoided for good. umaasa pa naman ako mag-ook ang chevy dito with the management of HARI owner as well as the 5 year warranty.

putsa kung i-rerecall yan ganyan problema, eh sa halos sa bituka na yan problem na yan, transmission and steering. baba and bukas lahat yan. cannibalized sa CASA ang cruze mo. tsk tsk tsk

i have seen the video of the falling steering wheel, that's life threatening.

General Motors Co is recalling 154,112 of its top-selling Chevrolet Cruze compact cars to check that the steering shaft was properly installed, the automaker said on Wednesday.
These cars represent all of the Cruze cars built at its plant in Lordstown, Ohio,
GM said it would file documents on the Cruze recall with U.S. federal safety regulators on Thursday, and that it would mail notices to customers beginning next week.
The inspection at Chevy dealerships will take about an hour, GM said.
The fix requires no parts and is a matter of realigning the steering shaft or shifting links, GM said.
Changes at the plant in Lordstown involve different tools used by workers and a change in procedure, GM said.
Ilan ba sa Cruze owners dito bumili ng Cruze na assembled sa Lordstown, Ohio?

But also you have to remember the BLUEPRINTS (the backbone) of the car are the same whether its from Korea or Ohio... Eh diba nga pinagyayabang nila na GLOBAL CAR daw ang Cruze. So the problem can also be global... So questions will linger...

We can only evaluate cars based on what was given to us at the time of testing and scoring.

The steering issue was an assembly issue, which won't affect local units. The AT issue, considering that they say that there were no complaints so far in the US... probably won't affect us, either.

Wouldn't have changed the scoring at P-COTY, though. Not unless a steering wheel fell of during the test...

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

All Chevy Cruze in the US under RECALL!
