Chevy Optra 1.6LS 2006 - MAHINANG AIRCON :(

Hi guys,

im new in both chevy optra AND in this forum.

before anything else, just want to say, gustong gusto ko talaga ang chevy optra. back in 2006, my first year in the industry where im currently in, eto na goal ko(to have a chevy optra), so having one now somehow boost my morale (kahit second hand lang)

sorry kung i might sound stupid for asking these questions. IT kasi linya ko, tapos, ung sasakyan ko pa before tong chevy optra ko e, KIA Preggio (2000).

moving forward; nakabili na nga ako ng chevy optra last week.. and here's the current observations that i have so far: (d ko pa dinadala sa kahit saang mekaniko kasi, gusto ko muna mag consult sa inyo guys kung saan may maganda pagawaan ng chevy)

1. mahina aircon. ung tipong parang fan lang. walang lamig talga. ung speed naman ng fan, mahina rin. hmmm, to put it bluntly, as in ung number 1, parang wala lang.. malakas pa ata utot ko. hehe. at number four, ang lakas.. (pero un nga walang lamig.)
->>> question: ano kaya problema nito? freon lang kaya? compressor? san maganda magpagawa nito?

2. hindi gumaganang auto unlock/lock (ung keyless entry feature nya). ->>> question: san po ako makakapagpagawa nito? and magkano dapat ihahanda ko?

3. gas consumption: 9-10.5 KM/Ltr ata. d ako sure pero based sa calculation ko: i travelled around 350Km this past weekend, tapos, ung nagastos ko sa gas e 1800+ php.
->>> question: malakas na ba ito sa isang chevy optra na 1.6L? (2006) or, O-K lang?

Have you checked the following?

AC
- coolant (kung may laman pa o konti na lang
- compressor (check mo sa ilalim kung may leak)

FC
- sa 9 to 10km/liter oks na yan

ung coolant po, pinacheck ko na sa petron, malapit sa may amin.
ung container daw nya (not really sure if un ung tamang tawag dun) may kalawang..(or i think he meant na kulay kalawang na ung loob) kailangan na daw linisin. babaklasindaw ung buong 'container' na un tapos, lilinisin.

is that correct po ba?

about po sa compressor, i've checked my garage kung meron sign ng tagas.. i've noticed these past few days, na parang meron nga. THOUGH, im not really sure if sa compressor un, kasi, like what i've said, van ung gamit ko dati, and normal lang sa akin makakita ng ganung liquid pouring out from my aircon system.

that being the case, pano ko malalaman na may problema ung compressor ko? sorry ha, i really am dumb sa optra, well, cars na rin actually in general. BUT i really am willing to learn from you guys who are expert on this matter.

hmm, my guess is binaha yang optra mo nung 2009 (sa old owners). same happened with my optra. got it to run with help of a good mechanic, everything worked ok, except for the car door locks, and back windows (at first they did, kaso hindi kase nagagamit masyado so nag rust siguro). I just had it detailed sa may Orttigas home depot and the ac started working again . Now, after more than a year since the flood, nag loloko na ata ang compressor ko. It sometimes works and sometimes not. Parang it cant detect when it is turned on. At first may delay lang, but I noticed it happens more often now, it takes a long tme before it turns on kaya wala ding lamig. You mentioned rust sa coolant, my guess is nabaha nga yan before.... i'll bookmark this thread, as i might need a new compressor too

PS same quote was given to me by Chev re keyless. yup, just install a new alarm sys, that shld be your keyless replacement na (accdg to my mechanic)

i have 2004 model...napansin ko sa aircon ng optra, malamig...after mga 10 mins.....warm na...kaya gawa ko off-on-off....may interval bago paandarin..i noticed also may parang aspalto na tumutulo sa floormat ko na parang aspalto? any idea wat hapend?...bagong cleaning pa naman ng aircon..here in gensan po ako. heres my email add just in case may feedback...alvinapsay*gmail.com...tnx

Actually, that's GOOD na for city consumption.

I only get 6-7km/L sa city. Eco-mode na nga yun halos eh.

Pero for sa highway that's normal. Kumaga oks lang.

9-10.5 km/l kung city driving is really good for an optra.. while i am able to get 12-14 km/l sa highway sa optra ko dati, 6-7 km/l lang din ako sa city driving.. sa aircon mo, check those suggested by marlboro..

Sir,

I would like to share my experience to answer your concern no. 2.

Over a month ago, I lost my keyless remote nya. So I have no choice but to use the spare key. Thus, the anti-deterrent was not functioning at that time.

I checked with the service center, for the key alone they charged me almost Php5,000 plus programming which cost me Php 1,500.00

Quite expensive. You might need to have it reprogram or you may check the battery first .

1.mahinang aircon.... for us pag talagang ok ang aircon ng optra miski no. 1 palang yan malamig nayan...
check mo sir... 1. kung yung ilaw ng A/C switch ay kulay green talaga or may ilaw ba cya pag ng on ka.
....2. kung may freon ba? pa check mo yung bomba ng compressor IN AND OUT nya...
2.lock and unlock yes check mo muna yung battery sa susian..
3. consumption 9-10.5 KM/l ok na yun gawa ng DOHC makina eh.
