Optra ECU Reflash??

i would like to know if Reflashing the Optra's ECU could really improve the Fuel consumption of the Car or it is just a Myth???

Yes it is real. The reason behind it is the original program of the Optra's ECU was not optimized for the engine/fuel resulting in its fuel guzzling behavior. After flashing, fuel consumption should be par with cars with similar engine displacement.

I asked this cause the other month pumunta ako sa isang GM casa (di ko muna sasabihin kung saan) para mag pa reprogram and im willing to pay naman 1,500 then nung sinabi ko un sa isa nilang agent tumawa lang siya then said di naman daw talaga effective ang pag rereprogram ng ECU so thats why im confused.

yes, sayang lang 1,500 mo sa reprogram.

the best way to have an efficient fuel consumption sa optra mo is have your unit in its perfect shape.

my optra before consumes at 6kms/L city driving... now, consuming 8.5-9.2kms/L city driving 2004 model.

Re flashing or reprogramming will help there are different version of ECU programs that can help you with you FC.

For example my triton truck i got it with a old version 3.0 malakas ang HP and torque but then again malakas din sa deisel i run about 7Km per liter. Then after a year nag labas nag mitsu thailand nag version 4.0 nag pa upgrade ako nag software it runs 10km per liter but medyo mahina ang top speed ko is only 130Kph. Now im using Version 5.0 i have the same HP nag 3.0 and my FC is 8Km per liter top speed is 150Kph.

If re programming or re flashing is available why not try the diffrent version so that you can test and see kung ano ang maganda just make sure na pinapalitan nga nila ang software mo and you get whats your moneys worth.

thanks sa mga reply mga bro! Balak ko pa reprogram na kaso how would i know kung talagang nireprogram diba? Chaka disturbing lang ung mismong agent nila ang nag discourage sakin na wag magpa reprogram.

Baka pwede ma mag watch sa kanila while they are re programming your ECU kasi ganon ang ginagawa ko na nonood ako sa kanila while doing it sabay tanong nadin nga maka naka lagay na information.

Good day Sir! Ganun din ang na-experience ko nung dinala ko sa casa yung optra ko. Ang sabi sa akin nung agent, wala naman daw effect yung ECU reprogramming. Anyway, ano na pala sir ang effect sa optra mo? If ever, san ka pala sir nagpa-reprogram. Thanks!

sa Chevy Qave bro, gumanda na ung takbo ung tipong pag tanggal mo ng apak sa gas baba agad to 800rpm ung idling before kasi pag tanggal mo ng apak as is sya kung san ung rpm mo meaning mataas. nag papalit narin ako ng Spark plug pero ung stock lang and pinalitan ung gasket kasi me leak na kaya me konteng langis na pumasok sa spark plug kaya panget ung sunog ng gasulina. estimate ko ngayon city driving is 9km per liter while 10-11km per liter pag no AC.

Just had my Optra 04 reprogrammed last Saturday. Also had the throttle body cleaned since the mechanics in casa told that it already needs cleaning. Initially, the car's performance improved. However, I still could not tell if gasoline consumption lessened since my wife drives the car. I'll just update you once I get the figures. Thanks a lot!
