Availability and price of Chevy spare parts

hi,

i plan to buy a captiva but i've been having thoughts latey after my colleagues told me that parts are hard to find and pricey for chev models.

how hard really is it to find the parts? don't the local dealers carry those?

i used to not have interest in cars that's why i don't have a benchmark with regards to the price of parts. like how much is the difference of chev's spare parts compared to the japanese brands?

hope you can enlighten me.

a piece of advice, mahal talaga ang parts ng chevy... at mahihirapan ka din bumili sa labas,... kasi nagkaroon na ng agrrement ang chevrolet philippines at gm sa korea kung saan nanggagaling parts na chev lang ang magiing sole distributor, so hindi na sila basta basta magbebenta sa iba, at yun din ang nasabi sa akin ng thunder hirap din sila ... so mas mabuti pa din japanese car toyota kasi maraming parts... at wag ka masisilaw dun minsan sa promo nila na free maintenance up to 3 yrs, dahil after nun dun muna mararanasan ang mga dapat palitan.. performance wise maganda ang chev... pero siyempre kailangan din imaintain... so kung gusto mo after 3 yrs benta mo na lang para di na ikaw mahirapan ... ako yun sana plano ko kaya lang ayun dumating si onddoy kaya nabaha din si optra.... tsk tsk laki na gastos ko...

you can buy parts sa Seiring araneta ave. was able to get brake pads for the captiva. seiring has korean parts so you can source out from them kung namamahalan ka sa casa. 37k na mileage ko pero wala pa naman sira. bought na rin brake pads para kung kalilangan na palitan di na ako kukuha sa casa. was able to get there also fog lights which is very much cheaper than casa.

Sir any contact #? ung optra ko pina check ko. stack-up ang preno. ang sabi ng mechanic. possible na may sira ung O-ring ng brakes. pero hindi pa sure un. kya naisip ko hanap muna ako ng pde mabilhan tpos saka ko bilhin kung confirm na sira nga.

Bro advice lang before you buy spare parts, magsecond thought ka muna kasi minsan sinasabi ng mga "repairman" na sira na this and this pero hindi pala.
Just like my spark stack-up din and preno, sa iba sabi bearing daw, pero nung pinagawa ko sa iba preno lang pala and they only did the overhaul sa preno...nakatipid pa ako...
