optra 04 aircon failing on long trips

Hello guys,

Our newly acquired, 2nd hand optra's aircon is failing on long drive. pag open yung hood there is a pipe thats covered with ice.

A good fellow at FB suggested to replace pollen filter first, is the air filter and pollen filter the same ?

Chevy Pasig estimates it 14K

One of the guys here at the forum estimates is 6.5 pero hesistant siya mag home service.

What do you guys think ?

check mo muna kung may aircon filter yan optra... kung wala, evaporator cleaning lang ang kailangan nyan

check Mario, 09187801507 to diagnose lang. pero slight lang yan.
I got a same experience with my optra.
Nag-a-ice yung pipe kaya ang tendency walang lamig na lalabas pero
di sira yan.
what I do, ino-off ko yung ac, fan lang muna mga 5min then ON ko ulit
para matunaw yung ice sa pipe.
kadalasan mangyari yan pag napalitan na yung stock COMPRESSOR...
minsan sa valve ang sira naman.

Pollen filter is 14K? You probably just need cleaning

Have you tried to set the temperature of the AC slightly warmer to prevent the ICE from building up?

A dirty filter reduces airfow and can cause the evaporator to ice up. I threw away the filter on the jazz and picanto, problem solved. The patrol and land cruiser dont have filters anyway. Patas na silang lahat. Hehe.

I'd vouch for mang mar also if you need a pro to look at it but dont want to break the bank. He has a thread in the workshop forums.

sorry po kung di namin magagawa yung aircon ng oto nyo about sa aircon
di po kasi namin linya yung aircon eh,
more on mga mechanical kasi pa po talaga kami mam trix eh.
cencya na po talaga...
ayaw naman namin na gawin ng wlang warranty po.
parts nalang po ng a/c nya from dryer,expansion valve,condenser,compressor evaporator etc.
maproprovide ko sa inyo po.
