The photo of the engine bay shows that the Beat will also be offered with a larger more powerful S-TEC II 16-valve powerplant.

The S-TEC 16-valve is a 1.2 liter engine with a chain-driven 16-valve DOHC valvetrain and variable intake geometry, it made its debut on the base 2009 Aveo(not sold here).
In the Aveo, this new 16-valve 1.2 liter engine produces a "good for its size" 84PS!

Yuck! That is the only problem I see with Chevrolet Philippines. LATE, LATE, LATE. The whole world will be enjoying this car and yet we in da bayan are stuck with old models.
Just like in the 70's. Every other country was driving in new model Lancers and we were stuck with the Box Type models.

Well, if they do bring 'em around, I sure hope I'll be around.
