    dear car owners,

i need help with my optra ls/at 2006 model. i just had it towed sa chevrolet shaw. kasama po syang malubog sa baha together with our
house and evrything in it. ang sabi po sa kin dun ay it would cost me around 100k or more to have it running again. i almost had a heart attack
that moment. its because papalitan daw po ang mga computer box sa loob.allegedly the optra has 3 computer boxes inside.. what do i do? meron po ba kayo alam na mapapagdalan ng optra na hindi naman ganoon kamahal ang aabutin. i still have two years to go before i am done paying for the car.please help me..please

Might as well try my electrician, Jameson 09215711924 . Maybe he'll do home service for your rig (wala kasing garage ang shop niya).

The other place I know reviving sunk vehicles is Goodwill Electrical. It's the only Electrical shop on the corner of Congressional Avenue and Visayas Avenue. Small shop lang but I saw them drying out computer boxes and disassembling dashes after Ondoy.

Hi toshi, we have the same problem, i also have an Optra 2006. although my optra is not matic...i wonder if it also has 3 computer boxes- from what ive read so far, one computer box is for the AT. Anyway, what's your plan now? any updates? as for me, i read the link given by ghosthunter and found a cp# of a mechanic (page 12 - mrquery) who seems confident to get it running...i pray and hope he will! but before he starts working on it, i know i have to make sure he knows the optra engine/electronics (or pare-pareho lang ba ito whatever model car??) or else baka lalo mapalaki gastos ko. TO THE CAR EXPERTS: what do you think, any inputs mga boss? scheduled ako for towing to gm shaw on oct 20 pa, so i have time to decide what to do ... but from what ive read so far, casa is out of my budget too!!

mas mura pa yata pumunta sa korea, at doon bumili ng ECU, at hand carry nalang pag uwi dito sa manila...

sabayan na rin pamamasyal para masulit pamasahe...

or may friends/relatives working at korea, baka pwede ipabili nalang sa kanila.

    Hi everyone...attn to Toshi:

I just want to share that both of our cars, including the Chevy Optra, are in running condition now!!! "Running" because it still needs work in the inside and the locks and windows are still a bit grounded. But according to Archie, the very good mechanic I found here, it'll get fixed as soon as the dashboard is removed and the wirings are cleaned and dried. I'm just so happy that I didn't have to spend so much money bec I really can't afford the casa fees!

Just sharing the blessing of finding and knowing Archie! Found it through a post of MrQuery (page 12) and via this link:

He's young but very good at his job...and seems like an honest and good person too (not 'taga')!

He specializes in new model cars- his recent flood-damaged car clients are 2006 and up...but he also knows old school cars hehe (also fixed our 94 Esi).

Good luck, and I hope you are as blessed as me, no damages to the ECU, aircon, power controls, lights, battery, etc.

    God bless!

    Hi,

Kung gusto mo makatipid, have everything washed and dried up... you have no choice but to remove everything inside out.

    Drain the fluids etc.

If everything - electrically is sound and good and functioning (by doing direct electrical tests...)

Then the next step is electronics.

If you dont have the budget for a new ECU...

You can try Mega Squirting it. for more info about that... go here. http://pinoymegasquirt.blogspot.com

eto price nila with regards to detailing kay BigBert

here is the breakdown pala nung 88k
computer box repair and diagnostic 30k <--- presyong palit bago na iyan
immobilizer 13500 <---- pwede tangalin nalang at palitan ng viper or clifford alarm with immobilizer
aircon (surplus) 10k <---- brand new Denso 7 thousand, Halla 10 thousand
    panel gauge 15k
    hella horn 900
    air filter 450
change oil 3x break fluid and
transmission fluid 6k <---- mas mura pa sa dallas caltex, or any gasoline station...
