cause I just came upon a racing team somewhere here in mindanao, the Team NCR. one of their sponsors is Chery. that have a chery QQ that runs autocross and claimed that it even beat the honda jazz, toyota corolla and honda civics. wth??

still researching about the specs of this QQ. maybe i can ask them at istorya.net. the QQ's engine sounds serious hehe..

On the second thought, that might be possible because upon seeing the track in the video, it may be hard for the sedans to maneuver left to right and in u-turns compared to the small QQ.

made me think what kind of modifications are done to the engine.

proof that those suzuki kei trucks can compete (in drifting perhaps) as well (read: it has a small engine too except that QQ's is bigger by few CCs)

what's next? suzuki alto?

Sounds like your standard straight-through scavenger type exhaust (no resonator or muffler).

The standard 1.1 liter QQ is very quick in first gear... about as quick as your typical 1.6 liter sedan... and it only starts to lose acceleration at 80 km/h... from the video... it never gets more than halfway through second gear, so it has no handicap in this regard... and the straight-through exhaust certainly helps up the power.

The suspension seems to be the biggest modification they've made... it's noticeably stiffer than the stock QQ (which has crap-all for suspension).

A similarly prepared Alto should do almost as well... of course, it'll be slower, since there's no local 1.1 Alto.

Not so surprising a result, given how tight that autocross is... I remember AutoXer saying that he drove a race-prepped Kia Pride once that kicked butt on the autocross because it was so light compared to everything else.

the team NCR founder and some team members said that it was all stock 1.1L engine. for the suspension, the placed G.I. Coil overs with rubber dampers.

well then in autocross you don't need much power. handling is what matters most.

i had also seen a kia pride running in autocross in the local autocross competition. (just seen a video. wasn't really there.) not so sure if it managed to win though. but then when i saw it i was surprised.

It's not stock if you've removed the muffler... stock internally... but what breathing mods did they do? Unbolted the headers and removed the air filter? Because, while a stock 1.1 is certainly quick in first gear... it's not as quick as the car they have there... they probably have 10 or so horses more from the breathing mods they have on the car.

Still... that's fantastic work on that little car... wonder how much the suspension bits cost?

Stock talaga yung qq WHEN it runs in the stock A class except maybe the tires but on the modified A class the headlights, trunk, seats, muffler are removed just to make it match up more with the modified cars.

Pero engine stays stock though... kasi part din yun sa advertisement sa sponsor yun eh, sort of like you can buy a QQ and run it though all that punishment.

Grabe talaga punishment yung QQ, mga more than 15 runs in a day and 5 different drivers in different classes nag drive. Rev cut pa ng rev cut kasi 6k rpm lang cut niya. At the end of the day, kahit kami amazed kami bakit it still runs... and to think 4 autocross legs na na push yung QQ, kitang kita na nga yung threads sa tires sa last leg dito sa Cebu. ahahaha

and you probably won't believe it but suspension is still stock... it's clipped with rubber bushings in between to make it more stiff hahaha you can notice this when the QQ brakes the front bounces up and down loosing a bit of traction haha no shocks dampening ;) .... brake... nose dive... release brake.... BOING goes the front hahaha

One drawback lang dito is we could not sink much money into the car since it gets returned to the dealership after each autocross event hehe hence the GHETTO suspension mods hahahaha the tires was probably the most expensive investment on the car.

Perfect example ito sa stock car + modified driver (Hindi ako included dito since hindi pa ako naka drive nito... but I can't wait to get the chance to drive this thing around the track, hopefully sa last leg pde haha)

Can't believe that the QQ could actually put out this kind of performance. I kinda expected this kind of car to flip through a sharp turn... Now it made wonder what it can do when you throw in a few tweaks in the suspension and the ECU, change a few parts...
