Hey guys, i need your take on this. We have a small computer shop business, and there was this incident when a customer's usb files were deleted due to a virus. We do have anti-virus, pero alam naman natin na hindi 100% protection ang nabibigay nito. The question is, are we (shop owners) really liable pag nawala ang files ng customers while using our computer units? Any opinion would help. Thanks!

I don't think you are liable. Risk nya yun. Kaya nga may tinatawag na "back-up".

You have a point here.

i don't think so. THREAT yan e, as the antivirus recognized it. paano kung the other way around nakalusot yung virus then yung files ng PC nyo ang nadale?

ano daw ba na-delete? crack file?

Were the files erased automatically by your anti-virus software? Some AVS give out prompts and warning messages before erasing infected files. In any case, you shop should have a notice posted saying that you are not liable for any infected files lost due to the same being quarantined or deleted by your anti-virus software.

sa folder options click view, then lagyan mo ng check yung show hidden files and uncheck yung hide system operating files..

just dont forget to reverse back if tapos ka na sir...

some computer owners are not up-to-date. they have to be reminded that their valuable programs and infos can be erased or made un-accessible, in the course of de-bugging.
even at the start of the computer industry, having back-ups has always been emphasized. and yet, very few will heed this advice.

"attention! your memories may be erased in the course of de-bugging! do you have back-up? if none, we have this..." e, di meron pa kayong extra income..
    heh heh.

so are you liable? it depends.. what is the industry standard? that is what the courts will base their judgement on.

You can claim that your PC have anti virus and the virus was on his usb. That got activated when he inserted the usb. And in the process giving your PC a virus.

Check the virus vault. Minsan pwedeng i-restore yung file pag naka quarantine.

    nope. you are not liable.....
and besides, AVs are not failure proof.
