mas malakas na ang peso compared to the same period last year.
ang trend right now is downwards. but sooner or later, mag spike upwards ulit yan tapos dun mo ibenta. mataas lang ang overseas remmittance this month.

You will never know what's going to happen anytime. The dollar has intentionally lowered its value to encourage trading with the US because of the Trade deficit between the US and the rest of the world totalling $600B and when that deficit is covered, I am definitely sure that the dollar will bounce back.
I can't believe that in 4 years ago, around January of 2000(4 years plus pala kasi 2005 has just started), if you click
HERE, this will give you an idea of how the Peso has devaluated over this short period of time. It started at around P40-$1, then in just over four years, it is now around P55-$1. Fifteen pesos to a dollar devaluation in just 4 years. If you can't access the hyperlink above, just go to: http://www.oanda.com/convert/fxhistory
With the good economic growth given, it is a very good economic indicator, but it is not gonna get too hot that fast or else something like what happened to Japan will occur. With the current political atmosphere, I really doubt it a lot if the Peso would stabilize really soon. Politics and Peace & Order situation make the situation worse for the Peso coz whether you like it or not, that's how the system works. Everything is connected.

i saw on TV patrol that the people are encouraged to exchange their dollars. they expect that the peso will only get stronger. (probably another media manipulation)
anyhow, i agree with m2 and cyberD. hold on to it muna.
hinde tumaas ang peso, bumababa lang talaga ang dollars, malaki pagkaiba nun...
i guess, exchange it when you need it.
sa huli lagi ang sisi. so when you exchange it when you need the money, then di ka magsisisi. okay ba?
yun nga din ang analysis ko shadow. i've seen it on CNN and BBC.
kaya i went to the conclusion that it's probably a government trick to pass either the VAT, or something else.
thanks guys for the replies. actually ganun nga din ang feeling namin kaso parang nakakahinayang na yung difference from 56 to 55. antay na nga lang muna kami...
thanks ulit...
Bro tama ka dyan. Hindi po lumalakas ang piso, humihina po ang dollars, check ninyo trend.Originally Posted by shadow

kung ako ho sa inyong magasawa bakas ako sa opinyon ng ibang posters: keep those greenbacks safely stashed..palit lang kayo ng peso for pressing needs..
not really... the dollar is devaulating itself for them to compete with the world marketOriginally Posted by BlueBimmer

After the war election naman. That is why their budget deficit is rising and their currency is getting weaker which is why the peso value is appreciating. Just like what cyberdoc is saying it is all connected.
Kalokohan yung sinasabi nila na maraming foreign investors nag infuse ng dollars to our country. The life blood of our country greatly depends on our OFW remittances which amounts $7-8billion per year which makes our peso slightly stable. I put more emphasis on SLIGHTLY. Kaya pag natigil ang remittances. LAND SLIDE NA!

Kakaiba ang sitwasyon ngayon. Peso getting stronger (or dollar getting weaker) and national economic is improving at 6.1%. These came within the same period and hopefully that this is not artificial growth. What is disturbing is that these positive development takes place when the house is passing a bill of expanded VAT which is not a "popular" measures. Sana lang hindi magkakapatid ang mga ito.
ibig sabihin ba nito eh parang nag take advantage ang government natin sa pag baba ng dollar?
