car companies to tell me that my car can't be a taxi or anything I want it to be? Here's a scenario:Let's say I won the lottery with a gazillion bucks (wow, balato to all tsikot members) I buy let's say the late model pajero ( no offense to paj fans) and I want it to be a taxi, why can't I make it one? It's my money. How do they prevent me from making it one?
why would you want to make a late model pajero a taxi in the first place?... you can buy 3 adventures with that money and make them as mega taxis without the hassle and create jobs for 3 persons... di ba?
anyway napa isip din ako how can honda prevent the govt from granting taxi franchises to even 2nd hand hondas?...
i think it's a stupid idea too...but honda is a private company.
just as you have the right to spend your money on whatever you want, they have the right to refuse to sell you their products if you don't agree to their terms.
pero anong mangyayari nyan, i.e. i buy a civic/city, and turn it into a taxi; anong gagawin ng honda, icoconfiscate ung kotse ko tapos soli bayad? or void ung warranty? dont get me wrong peeps, just asking this out of pure curiosity...di ako naghahamon ;).
kaya nga sila laging talo sa car sales...tingin ko if they didn't have that stipulation their figures and toyota's would be much closer...pero i guess ung thinking nila is quality, not quantity; kung mas konti kc ang ginagawang cars, mas pwedeng higpitan ung quality control...it also affects the number of defects per so-and-so units(syempre the greater the number of units, the greater chance of spotting one with defects), kaya paglabas sa jd powers e poging pogi sila
ung no-taxi policy ba also covers ung service cars ng hotels? tingin ko naman pwede na cguro payagan un...mas kokonti naman sila compared to ung totoong taxi companies
the car companies can't confiscate the car, but they can deny warranty privileges since by purchasing the vehicle, you agree to the terms of the manufacturer warranty (although dapat explicitly stated sa warranty fine print na bawal i-taxi, which i doubt andun).
i think pwede gawing taxi yung mga iyan. there's probably nothing at all in the warranty or sales agreement na bawal i-taxi (correct me if im wrong). but it's simply the image of the car that silently tells the buyer na hindi bagay i-taxi yung sasakyan na mukhang "high-end", imo. kahit exalta hindi ginagawang taxi, high-end kasi yung projected image. imo, it's purely marketing at yung mentality or profile na rin mismo nung customers of such cars and nothing like a formal contract or something.
MBT is right car companies CANNOT dictate what you want to do with YOUR car (as long as it's fully paid...hehehe) Even if you want your ESCALADE to be FX type service w/ a 100Php/km charge to passengers, then so be it... i don't think there's a law prohibiting any1 from doing want u want to do... Besides, if you bought the car, you don't have to ask them what you can & can't do, just do it...
hmm i think ayaw din ng taxi operators ng honda dahil nga sa mahal ng parts.. also they avoid most 1.6 models dahil mas malakas sa gas than the 1.3. ang liit pa man din ang kita ng taxis these days (except maybe for those mega taxis)...
