3 years ago pina disconnect ko ang now cable internet kasi lagi naman napuputol ang connection, so i figured, paputol na lang completely. after disconnection, patuloy pa rin ang dating ng bills, so i talked to their credit and collection, and they already agreed to reverse all charges. now 3 years later, bigla na naman naniningil... what should i do about this?

It happened to me also 3 years ago they also sent bills to me pro pinabayaan ko and later pumunta ako sa office nila sinabi ko na I dont used my internet since i reported to them to cut-off then tinignan nila sa account ko na wala ng nakaregister na ginanmit ko kaya nereverse nila yong charges ko.
Dont worry, d ka nagiisa. hehehe. DONT WORRY MAKIKITA RIN NILA SA ACCOUNT FILE MO NA NAREPORT MO NA AT WALANG CHARGES NA NAREGISTER.

June 15th, 2004 02:01 PM #4according to a friend, there is no law against pilfering of cable tv signals.. meaning, pag may cable line sa tapat ng bahay mo, you can tap into it, and the cable company will not press charges. they will just cut the cable. and after they leave, you can just re-tap again...and again... and again... and again...
totooots ba to?

question lang bro? how did you have it disconnected? via phone? with a letter? via phone, but you got a reference number? etc.... imho, parang dapat kasi may basis ka on the disconnection request kasi pwede nilang baliktarin na hindi ka naman nagpapadisconnect...
personally, i really don't know how to handle such cases pag walang basis....
maybe the resident lawyer here (fafa ungas) can help...

slip-slick::: Totoo po yan, sa dinami-dami ng illegal tappings na nagyayari sa araw-araw, di nanila magawan i-file ng kaso. But before doing it, be sure that there are open connections, baka magalit yung kapit-bahay nyo pag sila ang nawalan ng cable connections. :D
dx8976::: You will need to file a formal disconnection notice to the head office via legal deptartment and file your complaint. Also attach the corresponding faxed or emailed disconnection letters. Just be sure to save a copy for your own good.

iirc, over the phone ang request for disconnection. the dispute would be over their final billing which is for the month AFTER the disconnection. the problem would be that i have no more records since medyo matagal na to. yung usapan din namin na irereverse na nila lahat ng charges, over the phone din. in fact sila pa ang may utang sa akin, dahil may promo sila nung nagpaconnect ako na free tshirt =), tv guide and P500 off for referral and I didn't get any of those. I tried calling their office but I couldnt get past their machine without an a/c number. I really don't want to waste any more time with them. Any more assistance would be appreciated.

yung isang kasama ko sa saudi dati kinasuhan ng cable company. lusot siya kasi ang ginawa nya (he is a radio technician) e nag-imbento siya ng antenna and amplifier na mag-pick-up ng cable tv signal from the connections. that is may antenna siya na ginawa tapos nakatutok dun sa part ng cable na hindi shielded, like where it has connections and splices. NO PHYSICAL CONNECTION TO THE CABLE pero yung antenna was 1 meter away. the cable company sued him because he had all his neighbors connected to him and they were paying him a measely P100/month for a connection hehehehe! siguro kung sa kanya lang e hindi papansinin nung cable company pero ginawang negosyo ng loko kaya ayun kinasuhan siya.
pero he was found "not guilty" because the judge went to inspect his house and saw that his antenna was 1 meter away from the cable. no physical connection nga, which as stated in the law is a requirement for guilt. he was only getting the signal leakage from the exposed connections (shielded cable kasi ang cable tv coax wire kaya sa connections lang may leakage).
so ang ginawa nung cable company nagtayo ng mataas na poste sa opposite side of the street ng bahay nya para di abot ng kanyang antenna :D
IIRC they're with AVID. The reported numbers in the TG article are from CAMPI.
