We visited WTC yesterday with my wife. I was very impressed with the Chinese cars, especially the GAC M8.

also saw the Santa Fe Calligraphy in person. ako lang siguro ang nagandahan sa car na ito dito sa tsikot. the interior is upscale and feels wide. the height seems just perfect for wifey, and the rear look is okay for me as well.

Dominant na talaga ang mga Chinese cars. Sa WTC there were still some Japanese and European and American brands such as Chevrolet, Subaru, Nissan, Suzuki and MG pero the bulk is Chinese. Sa SMX about 97% Chinese made were on display. Ang hassle lang dito si the long lines to the shuttles back and forth from SMX to WTC, although mas okay itong mag park sa MOA/SMX area and take the shuttle than waiting in queue for a long time just to get a parking spot across the WTC.

    i haven't yet considered chinacars.
the occasional fly in the ointment that gets a lot of attention in the electronic media, and all that.
whether these flies are the truly rare event, or they are the de-rigor, i do not know.
so far kasi, the only good thing going for them are their price.

If you will be buying a chinese brand vehicle which brand will you choose? Isn't it that some chinese brand have a tie-up with European cars? I'm not that familiar

i do not know yet, what brands are worthy.

chinese companies may have bought certain well-known european brands,
but i do not know what else they purchased, i.e., did they also buy the quality control, the R&D, etc etc?

For instance I did watch a vlog from Geely Okavangco and the vlogger states that the suspension is good and the Geely representative says that the suspension came from a certain Lotus? because Geely tie-up with Lotus so it could be similar with other chinese car brand

NONE ... Filipinos should not be buying China made vehicles ... Spratly Islands anyone? ... Filipinos should make it known that they are angry with the incursion ... have some pride ... there are other choices ... Korean ... Japanese ... American ...

Heck no. Why, are they way cheaper than more common (Japanese) brands with an extensive after sales support network and parts availability? I've looked at a few leaflets from some dealers and the vehicle prices are almost the same. Naku, even if the prices were 100-250k cheaper, no pa rin.

Kaya ko din naman "mag-kotse" as an enthusiast, and I buy my cars on cash basis, but pinag-iisipan and mahaba-habang usapan sa akin yan before I buy, hindi yung parang bumili lang ng candy sa sari sari store.

In my opinion, the people who buy these vehicles are either: 1) the super rich who buy and dispose lang after a few years of use (dispose as in sell off for scrap) and; 2) the profligates (i.e. those who spend money foolishly & carelessly).

Sound financial reasons lang basis ko, and nothing to do with nationalism or hatred for any country(ies).

Another thing to consider is how reliable are they compared to the Japanese brands.

don't forget these cars are packed with unnecessary specs too... and some people have a real hard-on for that kinda stuff...

not only the aftersales support, the autoindustriya article above talked about geopolitical issue. nagmamaang -maangan ang mga car executives ng tsina sa kaganapan sa south china sea samantalang nagbubulag-bulagan naman ang mga local importers/distributors. di ba dapat binoboykot ang kotseng gawang tsina? honestly, kursunada ko yung gac gs8 at yung bagong foton tundland v9...pero mapapaesep ka[emoji849]
