SJ4000 and Xiao mi - designed talaga sya as sports camera, di ko alam night performance, pero sa tingin ko maganda kasi malaki ang sensor nyan sigurado kumpara sa G1W-C.

Pero kung ako tatanungin, I will get the G1WC, capacitor based ang selling point nyan, just like the A118C, parehas ako meron, mas low profile yung A118C, sa dashcamtalk.com, andun gma review at comparison ng mga dashcams.

Gusto ko rin ng SJ4000, yung imitation ng imitation, ilalagay ko sa likod ng sasakyan.

For those capacitor-based (no battery), how long tinatagal na naka-charge (so as not to erase your customed settings)? Minsan kasi, one (1) week lang nakaparada yung auto sa garahe kaya di ako kumuha ng capacitor-based. Anyway, pwede naman bumili ng new battery pag nasira. Tsaka pag capacitor-based, pang dash cam lang talaga gamit.

For others, they are not capacitor-based dahil di naman purely dashcam lang yung purpose nila.

Balak ko din ikabit yung pinagpalitan ko ng SJ400 sa likod. I will use powerbank na lang...

First, the fact the nagovertake sya and it was succesfull means MAS MABILIS SYA SAYO. If that was the case (mas mabilis sya sayo), there was a slim possibility na babangga ka sa likod nya the moment na papasok sya sa harap mo. Not unless pagpasok nya sa harap mo ay magmemenor sya agad, which, I think, is unlikely to happen. The way i see it, mas maaga lang yung pag cut nya sa harapan mo kaya akala mo aabutan mo sya. Pwede pa siguro na, kung mali ang pasok nya, sya (at hindi ikaw) ang tatama sa fender mo.

Second, if you really want to have one, it should not depend upon your dad. Whatever your current status now, I believe you have the capacity to buy it for your own. This gadget is portable. You can use it by yourself only.

Third, the dashcam can be used not only for accident purposes. Believe me, it's effective when you encounter kotong cops along the road. I always say na "Sige boss tiketan mo ako pero make sure na meron nga at tama ang violation na ilalagay mo sa tiket ko, kasi icocontest ko yan dahil may dashcam naman ako". Minsan nga, di alam ni kotong, este mokong, na nakarecord at banat agad ng "Boss, Php500 yan at abala pa kung titeketan ko pa (Alam na!)".. Ang sagot ko lang, "Boss nairecord ko naman lahat sa dashcam kaya pwede ko yan incontest". Ilang beses na din ako pinara (mostly swerving daw or sudden change of lane), pero ng dahil kas dashcam, ni isa walang tumiket hehehe!

Fourth, there are lots of dashcam within your Php2000 budget. Ang sa akin lang, I have been through those at Php500, Php1000 and Php2000 pero ni isa walang nagtagal. I am currently using SJCAM SJ4000 (With WiFi), which I got at Php3,900 only. The non-wifi version is cheaper by Php1000.

I guess I was just OA about the situation that time...haha. I usually let go off the accelerator when someone wants to overtake me kasi so... and newbie driver here lang sir ilang days old pa lang yung license ko (non prof) I remember someone saying kasi na kapag may bangga tapos ikaw nasa likod, ikaw most likely may kasalanan (which I find logical kasi ikaw nga naman nasa likod but what if...).
About buying on my own, I spent my saving and the grad gifts on gadgets,games,hangouts & boracay so...hingi muna funds kay erpat. (super impossible humingi kay ermat haha) - and incoming college freshman ako ngayon :/

buy ka ng 2, isa for windshield at isa sa rear window, pareho on and nag record. ang dashcam pwede masira anytime, kung 2 dashcam mo ung working ilipat mo sa harap, while in likod pwede wala muna, but pag nakaluwag ka buy ka ulit ng para sa likod

I use 1280x720 30fps resolution. 1080p is too large for my needs, but the SJ4000 can shoot at 1920x1080 30 fps.

Might be a problem of your codec than the SJ4000 itself. Try upgrading to the latest VLC.

Anyone using Vantrue R2 Dashcams? May kaibigan kasi ako magpapadala from the states, not sure kung isasabay ko na. Medyo pricey kasi. Features are:
170 degree wide angle recording. Full HD. Motion Sensor. Superior Quality Night Mode(sabi ng advertisement), 3.0" LCD etc.

*xvanquish, musta naman po ang kapit ng suction mount sa windshield hindi ba nahuhulog or bumibitaw pag nabilad sa araw ang sasakyan? TIA

okay naman po, minsan pa lang nalaglag.. habang tumatakbo, not sure kung dahil sa init ng panahon... rarely ng nabibilad ung oto ngaun.. at hindi pa nauulit malaglag..

Tip para di nahuhulog ang suction cup. Apply a very thin coat of silicon grease on the outer edge of the cup. This seals the vacuum inside and does not evaporate when the windshield is under a hot sun. If you just wet the cup with water the water evaporates and the expanding vapor inside negates the vacuum and actually pushes the cup off. Silicon grease will not evaporate and makes a lot better seal.
