    OT na nga bro....
actually, i am also looking for that, i need one like that kasi. yung ex-P990i ko, built in yung call filter to allow certain numbers lang, or numbers that are in your phone book lang so walang mga prank calls.

ano yung gamit mo? hanap na lang ako ng crack. hehehehe.

any update on your GPS sa PSP? it works, only that you have to be in the open para malocate ka ng mga satellites. it takes around 5 to 10 minutes so makes sure either fully charged ang psp mo or nakasaksak sa cigarette lighter.

5-10 minutes to fix on a satellite signal is agonizingly too long. Current receivers like the MTK chipset takes less than a minute for the first fix.

    Gaya nito?

Software is Go!Explore with UK and NI maps ... unfortunately there's no map for the Philippines.

Currently, only Garmin GPSes are supported by the Philippine map available at Roadguide.ph and OSMPhil, aside from AVT Navigators which uses Accu-Map (proprietary).

If you intend to use it in the Philippines, invest only on GPS products made by Garmin or on GPS hardware that can run the Garmin Mobile XT software (ie. some Windows Mobile and PalmOS smartphones, etc.)

There's a member here that uses his PSP as a satnav in the Philippines. The software is MapThis, which is free to download. The local maps are from www.openstreetmaps.org, and Google maps work with it, too.

I'm just not sure if the current version of MapThis already has turn-by-turn voice prompts. But it does support different serial GPS receivers like the Holux GPSlim ... unlike GO!Explore which only supports the PSP290.

^ I suppose you can go that route (no pun intended). It indeed does look good as a novelty item and it seems promising. But if you need a robust solution that'll pretty much cost the same as a PSP+External GPS, a standalone Garmin GPS is your best bet. No more hacking and forcing things to work. The map is updated almost on a monthly basis (roadguide), adding more roads, POIs and incorporating other refinements. You power it up and it works right away.

I believe the question was how to put a Philippine map and GPS on his PSP ... so MapThis may be his only route now. And you can't really argue the cost of a Garmin PNA when he already has a PSP. But if he doesn't, I would recommend a Garmin myself, but only because of the roadguide.ph map and nothing else.

You will need to have a custom firmware installed on your PSP which I supposed you already have. Download MapThis! http://dl.qj.net/MapThis-v0.5.20-PSP...5200/catid/151

Save it to your /PSP/Game folder

To download Philippines maps you'll need the Global Map Download Tool or GMDL. http://www.in7ane.com/psp/gmdl.html

Install it on your PC (.net framework should already be installed). You also need an internet connection because it downloads the map via google map or openstreetmap among others. Save the files that will be created by GMDL and save it inside the maps folder of mapthis.

    To all,

Somewhat eying this gizmo, although buying will have to be done online.

Can any PSP-GPS'ers provide feedback? Does it function as its expected to be? More than a year has passed and the maps may have updated/improved since then.

Help po tungkol sa GPS para sa PSP
