    guys, need your opinion here..

im having problem with my car (1997 lancer EL). nanginginig sya slightly kapag pumalo na ng 80kph. pag binilisan mo pa up to 90 lalong lumalakas din yung vibration.. di naman kalakasan ang vibration pero it's enough to make you feel alarmed and of course annoyed. i thought wheel alignment lang katapat nun kc may konting kabig yon dati so i had it aligned. nawala naman yung kabig kaso the vibration is still there. now, suspetsa ko gulong ang cause kc parang hindi gaanong pantay yung pudpod ng front tires..i just hope hindi engine problema ko kc magagastusan ako sigurado. sinusubukan ko kc i shift sa neutral when i reached 80kph para malaman kung immediate din yung paghina ng vibration - and i noticed the vibration gradually stops (while speed drops to 70...60kph) and then smooth na ulit cya..i want to conclude hindi engine related yung problem (i hope)....may isa rin nagsabi sakin, baka raw oblong na yung tire ko sa unahan. check ko pa mamya...nga pala - yung front tire (kanan) galing nga pala sa rear. pinagpalit ko kc mas makapal pa...
    palagay nyo, ano problem?

    thanks!

    have your wheels checked for:

    -balance
    -thread wear
-tire damage (tire thread might be loose from the tire carcass at a certain portion of the tire).

The third possibility is a major safety problem if you drive at high speeds since it is possible the tire thread to literally explosively peel off anytime while the car is at high speed. The problem here is it is hard to detect when the tire is just sitting there not moving.

Pa check mo rin tie-rod and ends pati balljoints for damage. Na-experience ko rin yan before. Pina balance ko pero wheels ko pero meron pa ring vibration. ok naman ang gulong. After inspecting the tie-rods/ball joints, damaged na pala. Buti di kumalas sa NLEX. After raplacing the tie-rods/ball joints, ok na. Wala nang vibration even when running 100+ kph. Hope this helps.

if the reason why you are planning to get 14 or 15 mags is looks, you would get more dramatic changes in looks with 15in wheels. Of course you might want to check the prices of tires because tires for those 15inch wheels will cost much more than those for 13inch tires.

yeah, double purpose. una is to solve the vibration when i buy brand new tires (at least fronts) pangalawa is yun nga - been thinkering with that 15" looks..

I had the wheels balanced, alligned etc. Right now Im thinking of having the wheels balanced in a different shop, kapag hindi pa din makuha dito baka bumili na lang ako ng bagong gulong.

Yung problema mo lumabas pagkatapos mo mag rotate diba? baka hindi balance ang gulong mo.

I think you have the same root cause as the thread starter... you might want to check the tire itself. If the tire thread has come loose, balancing will not solve it.

When I had the problem, I was going at 130kph when the tire thread tore off. I thought the tire blew since the car jerked to one side as the "explosion" happened. Good thing it was the rear tire so I was able to retain control as I gradually slowed down to a stop. When I looked at the damaged tire, it was still holding air but around 3/4 of the tire thread was gone.

yeah, things are starting to clear up. dalawa na lang possible cause: wheel balancing or the tire (thread) itself. this weekend wheel balancing muna, then pag di umubra bili na lang ako bago goma..thanks sa mga info mga bro!

slight (but annoying) vibration kapag 80kph na..
