Is it advisable to follow PMS checkups on slightly used cars?

I had my car checked for first 1k,5k,10k and 15k kms but my odo reading is only 9.5k hehe, slightly used kasi. Now I'm planning to have it checked for 20k kms. or 12mos. Reading is only 9.5k kms pero 1 yr na kasi and ang deal e whichever comes first, the 20k kms or 12mos.

Nakapag pa 5k PMS pa lang ako 3 mos ago.

Malalapit lang kasi ang route tho mayat-mayat naman ang gamit so kung tutuusin bugbog din.

Sa casa(dyan mo most probly dinadala para d mawala warranty) sa tingin ko just as long as dinadala mo at ur a paying customer, d ka talaga tatangihan nyan.

For me ganito lang, I observe na lang the car as often as I can. Feel, sounds, smell, fluid level/color, fc, etc... Kapag immediate na dapat dalin sa casa, d dalin. Pag minor lang, lista mo sa isang notebook sa PMS na lang patingnan. So every 5k pa rin.

Ang PMS naman eh just to keep ur warranty.

IMO, just follow the mileage interval (or every 6-8mos at least kung wala talaga)...

This does guarantee less headaches later on. To give an example, we change the oil on our Sentra every 5000kms and maintain/use it well (not necessarily super OC as we also drive our cars hard and use them a lot); before we sold it we've clocked 140,000kms and the engine still runs smoothly and only some "consumable" parts like brakes, clutch belts, water pump and suspension bits have been change... the timing chain and tensioners are still original and never needed new seals or any major engine operations.

i believe in PMS check-ups, specially if you use your car everyday. imho, it is very important that fluids are checked/replaced on a regular scale as indicated and recommended sa PMS.

yung mga parts naman, even though it is included sa PMS, you have the option to have it changed or wait until it breaks down on you, except perhaps for the timing belt as well as the fan belt aspects. kung baga call mo yun.

pero for your convenience and peace of mind, mas maganda kung napapalitan na din before it breaks down.

If casa maintained ang vehicle, I would recommend na ituloy sa pagiging casa maintained. Sayang kasi ang warranty. Iyon lang nga, you have to follow the schedule.

If this is the case, I'd replace all the fluids and check the belts, brake pads and shoes, components, etc. and replace as necessary.

After that, follow what's set for PMS and what's in the manual.

No sense replacing something if it's still good. That's just a waste of money.

Buying a slightly used vehicle is basically a crap shoot unless you REALLY know the previous owner.

Thanks sa mga replies!!! Sorry mga paps, brand new siya, 06 nabili. Last PMS checkup niya nung June 07 for 15k kms/9mos, then ngaun after 3mos 9.5 kms lang odo reading niya, ika 12th mo. na niya and as per warrantly booklet it needs PMS checkup for 20k kms/12mos but 9.5k kms pa lang odo since nauna 12mos kelangan na ba dalhin for PMS checkup. Pero I'm also wondering kasi parang nde necessary na dalhin ko agad, like what "hominid" have said sa casa basta paying customer ka di ka nila tatanggihan. Is it ok to bring it sa casa pag 20k kms na odo reading nya, estimate ko mga 12 mos pa ulet para umabot to ng 20k kms hehe, o kaya every 6 mos interval na lang sundan ko. every 3 mos interval kasi follow ko e kahit mababa pa odo reading.

3 mos ka naun, 6 mos pede muna cguro. Kung wala namang nangyayari sa mga susunod pa, maski matagal pa ng kaunti dyan. Bastat wag mong ilapse un sa mileage kundi me palusot na sila pag nag claim ka ng warranty.

PMS Checkup - pre menstrual syndrome check-up. Ang babae kasi, bago magkaroon, madaming nararamdaman sa katawan like mood changes, aches and sores everywhere, etc. So kailangang i-pa-checkup dahil baka may underlying causes.

Seriously, PMS means, Preventive Maintenance Services. This is the process where everything is checked, parts are changed before it can break down or can cause a breakdown.

This works if your vehicle is your daily driver and you drive it a lot.

But if you don't then it won't really hurt to work in the time interval component of the PMS.

Most of it is usually just check and adjust / replace as necessary.

With fluids, especially the oils, it has more to do with oxidation than anything.
