how do you tap the wiring (DIY) in such a way na kapag naka switch yung park lights, iilaw din yung corners? mahirap kasi makita yung clearance talaga ng car kapag madilim kapag walang ilaw yung corners, right? riiiiiiight ...

    TIA...

Double contact bulbs require double contact sockets as well...

umzzzzz: Betz had it correctly. I personally did the same stuff to my former car (lancer96-itlog), pero sa tail lights/rear signal lights. Not to worry about overloading the line,- mahina lang ang power required by the additional 2 bulbs.

    1. Replace the socket of your signal light with a double contact socket.
    a. Wire-in one of the contacts of your double contact socket with the original signal light wire.
    b. Connect(short) the other contact of your double contact socket with the wire of the park light.
    c. Common ground sila

    2. Do this for both sockets of your signal lights.

    3. That's it.

    Good luck!

kailangan mo palitan ng double contact bulb at double contact socket.

umzzzz: I am not certain, but I think double contact bulbs have different filament diameters/configs, resulting to different light intensities,- so you have to be sure that you are consistent with the contact (in the double contact socket) that is connected to the signal light wire and with the one shorted with the park light wire. I have no way to verify this now as my car is parked quite far from where I am right now. Maybe others in this thread can confirm.

If not, then it doesn't really matter....

Make sure that you connect the low-intensity filament to the park light wires and the high-intensity filament to the signal light wire.

Very good info here. Naka-double contact na rin dati Lancer ko. Nag-short yung right side kaya binalik ko muna sa single contact. Will try to double-contact it again when I have the time.

Thanks SeminaristaKuno for the 'confirmation'. Sabi ko na nga ba! It was 10 years ago since I did it.

    You're definitely God-send!

mcbry: yes sir, meron na po.
CVT: ok i'll keep that in mind...
Seminiaristakuno: correct me if i'm wrong sir, yung high intensity filament ba yung mas maiksi at yung low intensity filament ba e yung mahaba o vice versa? pero it doesn't matter na siguro, makikita naman sa lakas ng ilaw no? baliktarin ko na lang kung mali man ang pagkakakabit.

May tanong ako: if you tap the park light wire, hindi ba maiiba ang resistance to the point na hindi kaya ng kuryente, either the fuse blows or the wires get too hot?

wildthing: hindi naman siguro kasi negligible load lang naman yung signal light bulb e... i've had my EG's signal lights converted to double contact, pati cheek lights pa, for a year now and wala namang problem whatsoever...
