and why you shouldn't convert to HIDs unless you know your lens type.

wow... an eye-opener!!!
in a nutshell:
The only safe and legitimate HID retrofit is one that replaces the entire headlamp—that is lens, reflector, bulb...the WHOLE shemozzle—with optics designed for HID usage.
o nga eh, i was wondering about that before, kung baket yung mga oem HID (like kay Henry), di masakit sa mata... and sharp yung ilaw...
Nagtataka din ako dati kung baket mga nagbebenta ng HID upgrade sa mga casa sa ibang countries, buong assembly lagi binebenta... yun pala iba talaga shape ng light pattern.
I was wondering before why some HIDs on some oncoming cars have less glare than others. This answers my question.
didn't read the article but i hear of people retrofitting the projector lens of an HID equipped car into the stock housing...
Definitely may glare if you use stock reflector type housing based on the pics. Plus there's greater light throw if you use the proper housing and projector type. But it will cost you.
so does this mean if I want to go HID, I will have to buy a whole set and the housing! Yikes! That will cost me a lot.![]()
Yup, if you want HID headlights you will also need to replace your stock headlamp housing.
Migs: Tama, projetor pwede, kasi walang lens refraction factor yung projector... .
Any recommended HID places from the South? (ie. Las Pinas, Alabang, P'que)
Question: If I put HID on my Montero Sport, what will happen to the hi beam?
it'll still be halogen since they have separate bulbs unless you also upgrade your hi beam to hid.
thanks theeved for the info,
balak ko kasi pakabit ng HID or projector light sa revo namin, so baka hindi na ako HID and will go with the projector light on the bullbar..
