    newbie po sa cars. may tanong lang po ako sa mga experts. 2 days ago malakas po ang ulan then medyo bumaha nilusong ko po yung car sa baha. as a new driver d ko pa po alam kung pano ang pag drive pag dating sa mga baha. hanggang tuhod po ang baha kaya ang nangyari tumirik po yung sasakyan.

    i tried to start it pero ayaw na talaga tapos napansin ko umilaw po yung oil warning light. itinabi ko po yung sasakyan then iniwan ko. binalikan ko na lang nung wala ng baha. i turned it on nakita ko pa rin yung oil warning light, then try ko ulit start, nag start naman then nawala yung oil warning light, idle ako for 3 minutes then naiuwi ko na.

    up to now kapag turn on ko andun pa din yung oil warning light dati naman e hindi sya ganun. check ko yung oil ok naman. medyo natatakot ako i start baka mag cause pa ng damage sa engine. mitsubishi galant ssaloon 94 po

    ano po kaya ang cause nun?
    safe po ba na sstart ang engine?

    Anong kulay ng oil mo now? Hindi naman milky? Oil level?
    Yung namatayan ka sa baha, tubig ba hanggang tailpipe? How many tries to start?
    Kung ako nasa situation mo change oil at filter ako agad for peace of mind.

    agree ako kay 4jgtootsie, oil change including filter at underwash na rin.

    i dont know how to check kung milky ang kulay ng oil pero yung oil level nasa tama pang level. umabot yata ng tail pipe. i tried to start it mga 3 times.

    safe po ba na start ang engine?

    Siguro hindi ka umiinom ng gatas ano?.. joke lang. Kung pareho lang ng kulay ng oil bago at pagkatapos malubog sa baha ang auto mo ibig sabihin hindi siya pinasok ng tubig. Pero mas maganda patingin mo na rin sa mekaniko mo pati na rin ung tranny or lahat ng maaring pasukin ng tubig.
    About oil light normally nakailaw talga ang oil light pag-on pa lang ng susi kagaya ng battery light. Namamatay lang after umistart ng sasakyan.
    Naidrive mo naman ang auto mo kaya safe ka naman pero next time na malubog uli sa baha (sana wag naman) baka hindi na.

    sa dip stick po ba malalaman kung milky yung kulay ng oil?

    yung oil light ko kasi normally hindi sya nailaw kapag naka on lang.

    yup na drive ko naman sya. hindi naman nag turn-on yung oil light nung dina drive ko.

    hindi na ako uli lulusong sa baha delikado pala yan sa makina. kung may ma encounter man akong baha, hanap na lang ng ibang daan or pababain muna yung baha.

    baka meron naka super saloon dyan, share naman.

    Yes, you can see the oil via the dipstick. You'll recognize it if it has water (oil and water don't mix).

    The oil light illuminates initially to do a self test and turns off once you have started the engine. It's normal. Maybe you just didn't notice back then?

    If you are not well oriented to driving in water (even off-road drivers have to undergo training for this), then don't risk it.

    thanks mga masters, nag pachange oil nako and sabi nung mekaniko ok lang daw yung oil light na naka on, basta mag o off sya kapag nag start na yung makina.

    pards, ganito yan. eto im sure about my answer and i wanna share this to you. probably ito rin solution jan. it just happened to my bro's lancer boxtype at sure akong all cars might experience this too, no matter what type or make.

    scenario:
    the oil warning light in the dash lights when key is turned to "ON". After ignition, oil light turns off, but after sometime the the engine is running, it turns on again steadily at mamamatay lang uli pag nirerev ang engine. Oil level is ok naman and no marks of "milky" substance through dip stick or when viewed from the engine opening (where you put in oil).

    solution:
    changed oil switch. it's found somewhere or attached ito sa alternator and to the engine through a wire.

    maliit lang yun at now ko lang nalaman un ganun problema. bilin mo Niles na brand, mas matibay kasi yun P120 sa suking auto supply.

    bro, galant ss 96 owner ako. nung makuha ko yung car hindi umiilaw yng check engine at oil ko sa guage, pinacheck ko sa electrician, then inayos naman nila. when turn on the key (engine off) dapat ang naka ilaw battery, oil, break light (hand break engage) and yung check engine mag on lang sya for a second tapos mawawala na. when engine on dapat wala na yung ilaw ng oil and battery. hth

    yup ganyan nga ang car ko ngayon. kapag start nawawala yung ilaw sa oil, kampante na ako ngayon kasi nga normal naman yung ganun and alam ko na walang prob sa oil. thanks bro

    probably the oil sending unit came loose or is grounded.

    i think nasa oil pan yun katabi ng drain plug. hula lang hehehe....
    pareho lang ba yung oil sending unit saka oil level sensor?

    Ang alam ko nasa gilid siya ng engine block o yung iba nasa oil filter housing doon diya nakakabit. Always try searching on google malaking tulong din kasi. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&c...h+&btnG=Search

    Wala po sa Alternator ang oil pressure switch. Sinasabi lang po na nasa alternator ay yung wire nya para magkasama na sa isang loom yung oil pressure sending wire at battery light papuntang instrument cluster lalo na magkalapit lang o nasa iisang side lang ang alternator at oil pressure switch lagi lang siyang nasa side ng engine block or oil filter housing. Meron ding dalawa ang oil pressure switch katulad ng ibang volkswagen isang nasa cylinder head (low pressure) at isang nasa housing ng oil filter (high pressure).

    Its different. oil sending unit sends psi while oil level sensor monitors if oil is below the reserve level at any given time.
