help on how 2 make my headlights brighter

noticed during the recent rains dat d headlights on my carnival arent as bright as d ones on my rav4.im kinda concerned since its d rainy season & all,combined pa with d kind of roads we have plus d kind of drivers out there.how do i improve it w/out spending an arm & a leg?the HID kits (wats dis,anyway?--sori po,rookie lang :oops: ) they were talkng about in another forum are out of the question since they were talkng about 25-60t! wud simple bulbs from banawe do it?d ones w/ d colorful japanese stickers?tnx guys :wink:

try upgrading your bulbs to Philipps Crystal Vision or at least Blue Vision.

check mo what type of bulb do you have. baka hindi H4, mga 9007, 9006 or HB4, etc. mga american spec types ito and usually there are no higher wattage bulbs available for this types, if meron man mga choices mo are either made in taiwan or high end PIAA, CATZ. i know that the kia sportage has these american spec bulbs.

try to check also baka hindi lang properly aligned.

hmmm...for me the headlights of the carnival works well, just found out that the previous owner installed super white bulbs which is a hassle when im driving through a rainy night. so i have no choice but to switch the foglamps for better visibility.

Just changed my headlight bulbs to philips vision plus. better light throw, better visibility on rainy nights, though not as white as the previous ones.
ei wulf, do u switch on the foglamps when u drive at night?

how do you seal those headlights for deep river/flood water crossing?
usually water gets into it tapos mapupundi, leaving all the dirt pa.
my impression is "sealed beams" are better if you do frequent river/flood water crossings. comment?

For the Philips bulbs, Hans Tools in Shangri-la offers a good display and the prices are good/fair.

From what i know, Vision Plus offers a ** percent brighter output from the stock wattage with the stock color beam/light. BLue Vision is well... bluish in color (how the rain performance of this? AFAIK, blue doesnt light well with poor weather). The Crystal Vision has a clearer light beam then the stock colors.... CMIIW.

From all, i still prefer using relays and 90/100W All-weather or stock white colored bulbs.

On the sealed beams, if they really are completely sealed (no ventilation holes), they should be more water resistant IMO. Although i'm guessing that some headlights that arent sealed comes with more/better rubber covering for the bulb sockets then the average vehicle.

Check also if the headlight lens are dirty/darkening... this seems to be a problem with the newer "crystal" type headlights nowadays.

HiD ( High Intensity Discharge ) madaming class ang hid 1 of them is xenon bulb, sodium lamp yung sa kalye. sa auto they use xenon its very efficient 35 watts lang but 3 x brighter, and longer life span kasi instead of filament they use gas how they make it light is due to the arc that electrifies the gas it excites them, sa sobrang bilis ng collision nag kakameron ng ilaw. yun nga lang parang cellphone investment ito, mahal im selling but di totoo yung 60Thou mga 25 lang isang set na yun this is original HiD not yung mga super white lang. kasing laki lang ng cellphone ang balalst ko unlike the others...

avoid getting those superwhite bulbs.... they're just for show but doesn't really work well during rainy nights and on ashphalt roads.

Philips crystal vision is one of them. Get Vision plus/ Osram sivlerstar na lang or all weather bulbs.

there are sealed beam headlights with halogen bulbs inside, Sylvannia yata ang brand, they also have polycarbonate lenses so as not to break even when hit by a rock.

Who sells these Sylvannia sealed halogen headlights? Has anyone tried these? Is it better than the stock lights for a Gen I pajero?

orig yan ng 1996 isuzu kaya lang square. but i suggest you just buy the halogen types na lang better night vision. mga Hella, Bosch, IPF, Cibie they all have high quality headlight replacements. you cna choose pa the wattage of the bulbs from 60 to 170 watts.

Old car use to have sealed type headlights (bulb yung buong headlight). I find it very expensive to replace when it konks out. I went back to ordinary headlights. I just make sure that all the rubber fittings ng light are tight para hindi basta-basta papasok ang putik or tubig.

Kung regular water-fording...siguro the cheapest thing to do is re-locate you light higher or install an indepedent fog light sa mataas na part ng oto....so you don't turn the normal lights and use the fogs instead. Some suggested sealing the headlight with silicon (meron pang hi-temp type) sealant will do the trick.

To brighten things up, I buy the 100/90 or the higher ones 130/110 type. Basta't hindi yung 65/55 standard set-up. Any brand works well (although I noticed that the german and japanese made ones would last longer). The taiwan (sometimes they fake the german and japanese made) made last only 1 month. Reputation na lang ng tindahan ang inyong guarantee para hindi ma-fake.

The bulb would cost around less than P150 (non-brand consious) to P800 a pair.(famous/known brands). The standard 65/55 would cost less than P50 a piece.

If you change the bulb to higher wattage, do you need to change any of the relays to compensate or okay na yung nan duon?
