LED Gauge Mod

[OTEP]

I have not done this modification. But when I'm at Jorge's and Jemson's place [ Jemson's Auto Electrical and Jorge's Radiator Shop | Facebook ] I saw them (usually Roy) doing it on a lot of customers' cars. It makes the gauges look better and possibly easier to see while driving. Feels like a poor man's optitron or fine vision gauge.

You can buy your own bulbs or have the shop source them for you for a nominal mark up.

You have Neo wedge for your gauge lights not the T10 type for twist wedge. The bulbs are fixed they cannot be removed.



Those are hard to find in the Philippines.

Sir meron na po. 300 a pair ata? They did a patrol using said bulbs po.

dito sa las pinas meron na yan ganyan bulb.. pwede naman palitan yung socket ng led bulb.... sa blue zone auto accessories meron

mga sir, im planning to mod my panel gauge lights to LED, pero syempre di ako gagawa sa electrician na lang, ang tanong ko, possible ba na may masira na gauge ko? (eg speedometer, fuel gauge, temp, rpm) baka kasi may chances na biglang mag loko or what. kaya natatakot ako ipagawa.

Nice! Question though, is it bright enough for daytime use? Para sana optitron na talaga ang dating.

correction..

#24 pala yung sa taas not #74

so sa civic EK ay tatlong klase pala..

#74(smallest rice bulb) #24(midsize rice bulb) #194(big rice bulb or peanut bulb..? i'm not sure heheh..)


i can't find a #24 kaya naghanap na lang me ng 3 watts na #74 then bukaka na lang yung paa para
umipit sa loob ng socket na pang #24... kumasya naman and mukhang di rin basta-basta mabubunot..


for the mods.. i have to remove the diffuser and amber print sa likod ng face using cotton buds and alcohol..
then use a transparent headlight film (blue and red) para magkakulay... maganda rin naman.. kung naging
maganda lang placement ng mga bulbs sa gauges ng EK ay mas maganda siguro effect niya.. kaso puro
alanganin yung puwesto ng mga bulbs sa ek eh.. i saw a project at HCP na inalis din yung diffuser at amber..
then LED's in PCB's complete with resistor and voltage regulator pa ang nakalagay sa likod ng bawat gauges..

No, as per my Sentra. It is brighter than stock, but not bright enough to look like an Optitron. Saka ang instrument panel design kasi ng 90s car ibang iba sa cars of late na parang digital/color etc. Kaya hindi same effect.
