I don't think it would catch on beyond a couple more years as a styling thing. The HID headlight is a functional upgrade, emitting more visible light on the road for less power & heat from the bulb.

LEDs in the headlamps are more styling accents than functional. Other areas, LEDs might become the norm like the rear tail-lights and signal lights.

Your right styling to catch more attention and different from other cars. I noticed to the come back off the Hella Red light in the back of the car seved as additional park light.
