pang porma lang ba ito? .. i always thought fog lamps are powerful lights that can peirce through tough fog .. naalala ko sa pickup na gamit namin before .. ang lalaki ng mga foglamps ... but the fog lamp accessories in the cars today appear to be weak .. mas malakas pa main headlights ko ..

Actually, driving lights na lang ang mga yan, hindi na talagang "fog" lamps. Their beams are dispersed, low and wide, unlike the real fog lamps which have pencil type beams and are colored yellow so as to pierce the fog. IMO, they're still useful, when used in conjunction with the headlights.

As mentioned, fog lamps have a low, wide, and short ranged beam pattern. This is to keep the reflection from the fog minimal (which is the case if it were bright, and far aimed lights). Most likely the lamps in your pick-up before we're "driving lamps".

    I read through this... http://www.accessconnect.com/piaalamp.htm

May driving beams, fog/foul weather beam, dichroic driving beam, pencil beam, etc.

So it probably depends on what you need.

aux lamps, there are different kinds and brands.

fog lamps, driving lamps, pencil beam each one has its own characteristics. brands are IPF, PIAA, Bosch, Hella, FET, Cibie, may mga local or taiwan rin, it depends on your budget.

fog lamps doesn't need to be so powerful to become effective. it is all about its proper placement.

the OEM fog lamps installed in vehicles will effectively cut through fog. try this in tagaytay.

oem foglamps are the best, they are designed well for the intended car. if ur considering aftermarket lamps go for genuine hella or bosch.
