I have mine turned on always at night haha.
Naka tap lang kasi sa park lights
Meron DRL na multi-function. It has its own controller.
1. Always on pag running ang makina. Patay sya pag patay ang engine
2. Sasabay sya sa signal lamps (if activated)
3. Pag nag turn on ang head lamp, mag dim sya (if activated)
Meron din DRL na wala ng ginawa kundi iilaw lang sya talaga.
Depends on the car's make and model, and if it's DIY, how it is configured (controller-based or otherwise).
Modern Honda OEM DRLs in US and Canada uses the hi-beam at reduced power. They're activated with the engine running and the shifter out of Park (for A/T). They're deactivated when you turn on the headlights.
Each country will have its own regulation but for me daylight nga so sa ignition it should turn ON and OFF when you turn on your parklights. Ganyan sa Jazz ko. I think mas maganda naka OFF sa gabi since redundant na when you have park lights. Some will have it sa low intensity sa gabi which will look good on some cars.
my civic FD has an OEM DRL. It automatically turns on 3-5 seconds after you release your handbreak and uses 50% (brightness) power of the high beam. It turns off automatically if:
1. headlight is turned on
2. shifter is either in P or N position and handbreak is engaged within 5 minutes
3. you turn off your engine
