Hi fellow tsikoteers! I need your advise....
Had an oil change in my 4D56 engine.
Changed oil w/ Valvoline All Fleet 15W40 oil, and changed oil filter with VIC- C306.
I noticed ..na matagal mawala ang ilaw ng oil warning light after engine starts.. mga 6 seconds delay.
This did'nt happened before I changed the oil and filter, the light goes off agad pag andar ng makina.
Is this just normal (6seconds delayed off), or is this something to do with the oil filter? I discounted the possibility of the motor oil coz ive been using this in the past.

pag-bagong drain/palit, normal lang yung 6-sec delay. pero kung matagal-tagal na at nakailang ikot ka na, check your oil pump...

Delayed response of the oil warning light is only experienced when I start engine after about an hour stop. once the light's gone, stop the engine and restart again, off agad and ilaw. Pag tumatakbo naman at mainit na makina, hindi nama umiilaw ang warning light. Is this bec. of the oil? I used 15W40 Valvoline.

What is the recommended motor oil viscosity of a 4D56 engine?
nagtanong ako sa El Dorado, according to them, SAE 20W50
daw pinagagamit nila sa Mitsubishi diesel engines nila.
Is this the approved motor oil for this engine?

April 26th, 2007 08:55 PM #9the 4D56 manual posted here recommends 10w30 max.
4d56 Maintenance Schedule
the manual even says it consumes 1L oil per 1500km max...
though the oil looks really thin kaya 15w40 pa rin gamit ko sa 4d56 namin,
but I use 10w40 sa 2.2TD.
