Guys, i was just driving down from Antipolo to Ortigas Ext. and napansin ko nag-blink on and off for a few seconds yung low fuel warning light ko. The thing is half full pa gas tank ko. Any ideas kung pano nangyari yun? After that i made it all the way back to QC na di siya nangyari ulit. Wala naman ako ibang naramdaman, yung light lang...

Were you accelerating (or braking) hard when the lamp started to blink? Was the blinking evenly spaced or erratic?

If i remember correctly, i was accelerating when i first noticed the light, then tried to let the car coast when i noticed it. The blinking only lasted a few seconds, but it was erratic, not evenly spaced. I've been up and down Antipolo twice since then, and i was watching for it, but it didn't happen again...

If I remember correctly, the low fuel warning lamp circuit on the Civic, has a gradual intensity feature that lets the lamp turn on slowly. If it was blinking, the problem would not have been the sending unit because it would not have been able to cause it to illuminate that quickly. The problem, whatever it was, would have to be closer to the lamp for it to flicker like you described.

I'm a bit more inclined to think it was moisture related. Maybe you just suddenly decided to turn off the a/c and roll down the windows on a warm humid day (lit a cigarette, maybe?). This might have caused a sudden formation of condensation which might have shorted the warning lamp controlling circuit.

My ride is a '93 Lancer Glxi, would you happen to know if my car has the same gradual intensity feature for the fuel warning lamp? As for it being moisture related... it was early morning, around 2am, and i had my windows closed, a/c on, and wasn't smoking, so i'm thinking that might not have been the case... pero interesting idea po yun sir ebbfolls.

baka your car is not even on the road (climbing uphill) so parang na tilt yng gastank mo and the floater sensed that its near empty

    just a guess though
