Good day to everybody at Tsikot community. I am about to buy my daughter a second hand car, as this is the first time I am going to buy a car in the Philippines, I am not familiar with how the paper trail goes. I lived in Australia and now in UK and always drive a car with fully comprehensive insurance which is always advisable in both countries. Now I found the car I want for my daughter it's a 1996 Hyundai Elantra with a manual transmission she will be the 3rd owner. As far as I know it is newly registered to the recent owner(2nd owner). The car is in good condition and the colour suits my daughter. I've asked for a quote with 3 different insurance company in the Philippines and all of them informed me that they don't insured car over 10 years old or cars which is less than 200 thousand in value, as they don't have a facility for it. Big question how are the normal people whose cars are older than 10 years old drive around the country with out insurace do it? I can afford to buy my daughter a more expensive car but for a first time car driver it's wise to drive and get more experience in older car till she get used to it. Sorry for my long story just worried that it is complicated to drive back home.
