    Mga bro, newbie question lang po. I got a 2nd hand car registerred last May (ending plate 5) sa previous owner. I got it transferred under my name this month of September. Im planning to get a comprehensive insurance. Since the car has TPL registered to previous owner, is it still in effect until May 2011? or do I have to get a new TPL in addition to my comprehensive?

    Wala po akong endorsement ng insurance to new owner, my question is ok lang ba kuha na lang ako ng TPL ulit? Will this cause a conflict sa LTO if may unexpired TPL pa ang nabili kong car?

    sir,dapat nung binili nyo ang car na yan may comprehensive insurance na para at least may peace of mind kayo or pinaka-warranty nyo na since its a 2nd hand car;existing pa po ang TPL nyan until next registration,puede kayong kumuha ng comprehensive pero next registration po ng car nyo sa may 2011,obligado po kayong kukuha ng bagong TPL,ganyan po kasi ang na-experience ko noon sa 2nd hand car na binili ko;ang TPL po talagang kailangan yan sa LTO pag pinarehistro mo na ulit ang sasakyan mo;

    Thanks sa mga info mga bro.

    Naikuha ko na sya ng comprehensive w/o TPL. Kaso i dont know san insurance company nai TPL nung previous owner nung niregister nya bago ko nabili. Since di ako makakuha ng endorsement, balak ko kumuha na lang ng TPL na bago para may peace of mind na ako. Nakarecord kaya sa LTO sang insurance company naka TPL ang mga registered car?

    If thats the case, ya you can get another TPL for your peace of mind, especially since there was a change of ownership. And since you dont know where your previous CTPL is and you wont be able to have it endorsed, just get a new one together with your comprehensive. Anyway its just a few hundred pesos. LTO doesnt have anything to do with it anymore. Importante ay makapagclaim ka pag may nabundol kang tao. Mahirap na rin.

    go to the tpl office and show them that you bought the car. they will transfer the tpl to your name at cheaper cost than if you were to purchase a new tpl.

    sir, if you were able to transfer the registration of your car it means your tpl was endorsed to you already or you got a new tpl. better ask the one who transfer your car reg. on what he did.

Car transferred to new owner, should I get a new TPL?
