Just a question of curiosity, rather than a question of need. But do you always have to get the CASA's partner insurance (for Honda its either Malayan for Yuchegco and Ayala for duh Ayala and for Toyota its AXA) for the first year if you buy a brand new car with the CASA? What if you won't want their insurance partner, will they sell you the car anyway?

Noong binili namin ang avanza, kasama na sa purchase ang insurance. first time buyer, wala pa masyadong alam .

Ang ganda lang ng sa kanila kumuha is sigurado na ang casa at insurance company ay certified sa isat-isa. IMHO.

That is not always the case. There is this thing called 'unremitted premiums'.

If you are getting your policy from so called 'casa' always make your checks

    payable to the insurance co.

A buyer or the car owner should always have the option to get a car insurance cover from his/her preferred Insurer. Though a car dealer agent may give you ideas on the convenience of getting their in-house insurance partner, especially in processing and releasing your newly purchased car. But the bottomline is that the buyer/car owner should have the last say in terms of getting an insurance cover.

Though based on experience, other dealers require the buyer/car owner to get their in-house insurance in the first year, and is given an option to switch insurance in the 2nd year (renewal).

    Happy motoring!

Thanks for the input. Kasi yun na nga parang laging package in na yung price ng insurance sa total cost of the car... Pero yes I am also aware that the 2nd year the owner can already choose his/her preferred insurance.... Other inputs?

Same thing when I acquired my unit four years ago; it already came with the dealership's insurance coverage for the first year. Then when I mentioned it to a couple of Mitsubishi employees, sabi nila magpalit na lang ako ng insurer by the second year, the reason being that it was difficult to claim for damages from that particular insurance company.

So nung nag-1 year old na yung sasakyan, I switched to Direct Link. No complaints so far.

you should always get the best and cheapeast insurance.. kung mas mura sa labas.. eh di sa labas.. pero kung kayang tapatan nang CASA (which they can do).. eh di sa CASA.

    +1000.

I always shop around for insurance before purchasing my car, so when it's time to haggle for the price and freebies, I can also haggle for the insurance as well.

Do you need to get your 1st year insurance with the CASA?
